"We loved this hotel. We were made to feel so welcomed at reception and shown to a beautiful room. In the evening we had drinks on the beautiful patio. We had an early morning flight and the front desk person made caupicinos for us while we waited for our airport taxi. He also provided us with a to go breakfast. How kind and thoughtful."

"Beautiful hotel in the very heart of the city. We were able to walk to restaurants, ancient ruins, shopping and other area attractions. Great location. The hotel I think used to be a very glamorous home, lots of marble and great architectural features. The staff was absolutely incredible and the room was spotless. "Let's start with the bad: Catania is a strange city. When we arrived in the neighborhood on a Friday night, we were shocked by the graffiti and garbage everywhere on the streets, as well as broken bottles and animal feces. The unit is in what appears to be a sketchy area, but we never actually felt unsafe - I guess it is just that kind of neighborhood. The doors to the building are so narrow that my husband had to take off his backpack and enter sideways. Unit is on 3rd or 5th floor, could not really tell, as the staircase is circular and long, so pack light! Train tracks are nearby, and woke us up at 6am. Partying went on all night outside - even though I could hear it, it was not too disturbing. There was no water bottle or coffee in the room (after 3 weeks in other 20 places we got used to having at least that if not more). Now the good: The location is perfect to visit downtown yet on the edge, so you can walk to non-touristy restaurants outside the center. There is a secured, paid parking 7 min easy walk away. The host was wonderful, communication was timely and detailed, and we had no issues checking in and finding the place. The room is large, bright, with 2 balconies overlooking the lit up dome and restaurants street on one side and the sketchy neighborhood on the other - actually a very odd combination. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean and working. We only stayed for one night. I would recommend it for short stays and easy walking to downtown."

"Location is literally next door to the fish market (no it doesn’t smell like fish at all) and walking distance to all the sites but it was noisy until the wee hours and windows aren’t soundproof. Overall, hotel room was spacious but was a little tired. Water stains on ceiling, paint needs touching up in a few places. Breakfast was OK - not a lot of options but pastries were good. Staff were very friendly and helpful."
