Great property in a lovely village very well located to explore the Cotswolds. We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our grandchildren’s third and ninth birthday the cottage had lots of space and was very well equipped

Very enjoyable break
Very nice house, perfectly situated for local facilities. Our dogs enjoyed it too, though the steps to the back lawn were a little steep for our older Labrador.

Family home in a nice village
Pleasant and cosy family house with a nice garden/lounge room and small garden. In the center of Winchcombe, nice shops, pubs, beautiful castle and lovely walks on your doorstep.

Great stay at the Fluer de Lys
We enjoyed our stay at the Fluer de Lys - great location in the heart of Winchcombe. We were nervous about the house not having allocated parking, but there is lots of street parking in the area. House was tidy and good size for our family of five.

Great location
A lovely property in a great location. Winchcombe is a pretty town with good walks and amenities, and less touristy than other villages. However, the main bedroom had a strong unpleasant odour which did not go after airing the room.

Lovely stay
The cottage is in a lovely spot in the middle of Winchcombe and very comfortable.
It is a little tired in some furnishings downstairs and it would have been nice to have the little extras like candles(which were mentioned in there in house blurb).
The garden definitely needs some fairly major attention but as it was winter not a big issue.
Overall a nice stay

Great family get together cottage
Gorgeous property for a weekend with our family . Great location for walks and lovely pub right on the doorstep!
Property just as described .
Sadly no baking trays at all so we had to go and buys some and also the food processor didn’t work . Would’ve been nice to have some little goodies provided as a welcome

Great location, improvements being made
We stayed just after new management had taken on the house. In only a week, they had already addressed a lot of the issues in previous reviews - tidied up the garden, new BBQ, lots of new kitchen equipment, steam cleaned the carpets, re siliconed the shower. We felt this was a 4 star stay in a house with 5 star potential - with new management obviously keen to make things better.
The sun room is a lovely space to spend time in, shower was powerful, kitchen well equipped. Location was great, with lots of nice pubs nearby, good walks and the Castle definitely worth a visit.

October half term visit
As a party of eight, including two children and two dogs, the accommodation provided by the cottage was excellent and the location was perfect. Our only criticism would be that the kitchen, although well laid out, lacked basic equipment and so cooking was a bit of a challenge!

A delightful property in the heart of Winchcombe
This property is delightful, with Cotswold charm and beautiful presentation, we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The location and amenities were great and parking was easy to find just around the corner. Given that the house was beautifully presented and homely, it was a shame that the garden was overgrown. But the weather was cold, so we spent the time at the house indoors by the gorgeous fire and it didn't affect the weekend. Would definitely recommend this accommodation.

Felt like home
This was our second year at Fleur De Lys, and it felt even more like home than last time. Our only disappointment was that we missed out on booking it again for next year! Having the two bathrooms also makes a big difference when you have multiple getting ready for a festival and wanting to shower at the same time, and the gorgeous bath is perfect to recover after a busy weekend.
We also had two people with mobility problems in our group, and the stairs to the second floor are wide and easy to navigate, unlike some other cottages we have stayed at. There are some steps from the dining room to the kitchen/sun room, but again they are wide and sturdy so easy enough with a walking stick.
We will most definitely be back with Cotswold Cottages in the future

Fleur de leys
Beautiful house . Beds is very comfortable. Pity there no parking outside the house . You can park in the long term car park. Would be great if the kitchen have enough utensils to make a proper meal for 8 adults. The kitchen store cupboard could do with some extra kitchen towels . At the weekend the road outside the house can be noisy due to a pub closed by.

Above expectations!
I was a little bit worried reading the previous reviews but the house exceeded all expectations! The house was big enough for our group of 7 people, with lot of space to relax after a full day exploring the Cotswold. Rooms were not so big but enough for a short stay, kitchen was we'll equipped and we were so lucky with the weather that we even had dinner in the small but well cared for garden. Our favorite room was the conservatory, bright and spacious for everybody! The general cleanliness of the house was not optimal, It could be improved. I had the need to communicate with the manager of the property and he was kind and helpful, promptly solving out problems. House is well located, with shops and restaurants within walking distance. All in all It was a great experience and I would stay here again!

Great location for Winchcombe
The cottage is roomy and has all the essentials. I liked that two separate sitting areas were available. The location is great with local shops, pubs and restaurants all just a few steps away, as well as being well placed for exploring the Cotswolds. The downsides to the cottage are that the furnishings are very tired, eg, the sofas are stained, concealed with throws, grubby carpet stains. The baby high chair was very grubby, so much we didn’t use it. There’s a great sitting area outside but unusable as the garden is so overgrown. The cottage could easily have been great but I felt the owner needs to review the presentation.

Cotswold trip with friends
Overall the stay in the cottage was nice. Great location and reasonably roomy cottage for 4 adults and 3 children. But a lovely old warm house. Decent WiFi which is always welcome.
My only criticisms with the cottage was the level of cleanliness in the shower room and kitchen. The shower cubicle generally needed a deep clean. The kitchen could also have been cleaner- the oven was full of crumbs and the extraction fan greasy.
The kitchen was also not very well equipped. For example- Only one very old cast iron frying pan, difficult to clean and had to be scrubbed before use. Some additional wine glasses and pint glasses would be good- only 4 wine glasses, if you had more than 4 adults they’d be drinking out of tumblers.

Lovely location
The house is in a lovely location and provided the space we were looking for. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, however a few points of note which seem to have been commented on previously.
The garden is neglected and has been for some time, with an old shower screen and detritus under the back cover so if you wanted to store a bike you would be unable to. The kitchen is a lovely space but let down by lack of roasting and serving pans and only one frying pan.
We were also left only one dishwasher tablet and no dog bowls. The upstairs shower still has extensive black mould on the silicon which is a shame.
The sunroom is a delightful space but is challenging with a cream carpet, maintaining that when you have to go out to the bins on a slippery green patio. It is a beautiful property but let down by the recent lack of attention to detail.
These comments weren't raised at the time as we were only away for a few days and as they have been noted on previous reviews, it is unlikely anyone is going to pop round and resilicon the shower! So just disappointing for what is meant to be more of a premium property.

Wonderful time
We had a wonderful time at Fleur de Lys. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed as a party of eight. Charming, clean and well equipped. It was ideally located in Winchcombe which is a lovely town at the edge of the Cotswolds, ideal for exploring the surrounding countryside and the more famous villages. They were so busy, Winchcombe was a welcome retreat with 3 pubs and restaurants. It is a hidden gem as is Fleur De Lys.

Perfect location
Great property in superb location. Spacious downstairs area and good sized bedrooms.
Nice outside area, especially if you have dogs.
Loads of character features in keeping with a very old property.
Close to lots of amenities, highly recommend The Lion Inn, only 100 yards from property and lovely big courtyard garden, they also do nice food and breakfast.
Lots of nearby walking.
Car park is literally around the corner and only costs one pound for the day.

Lovely House in a Great Location
We spent a weekend at Fleur de Lys with family. The house is (one of) the oldest in Winchcombe, has been extended and fitted out beautifully but if you are tall then be aware there a few head hitting opportunities! There is a small garden where you can sit out and enjoy a barbecue. The garden room was a particular highlight. Kitchen was well equipped and there are 2 bathrooms which was fine for our group of 6. Winchcombe is quieter than most Cotswold tourist spots which suited us well. The Lion Pub is a couple of minutes walk and we had a good meal there. There is a convenience store just across the road and a supermarket at the bottom of the hill. Finally there is a car park round the corner from the house and parking bays opposite where you can stay for an hour to unload bags so it wasn't an issue to not have private parking. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, could do with some TLC
Amazing location, very cosy, within seconds to the pubs and shops of the town. Parking available 2 minutes walk away for a pound a day.
Mattresses were very soft and bouncy. Obviously you have the street noise being right on the road so just be aware in case you are after peace and quiet. Garden out the back had not been looked after, grass and bushes overgrown, and not been cut for weeks, couldn’t really take the dog out there to use it. Grouting in the shower is black and tired. Overall a great location but could do with some attention to be amazing.

Tired and not clean
The property was tired and not very clean. Towels from the previous guests were left hanging on the back of the bedroom door. Carpets still had dog hair on them. The sofas are uncomfortable. The bins outside had not been emptied for some time and there was dog poo in the recycling bin.
The kitchen was lacking in equipment.
