Spend a relaxing break in the heart of Burgundy!!

Spend a relaxing break in the heart of Burgundy. If you are looking for peace and tranquillity look no further. Gite Hauteloup offers all you could need for a memorable family break. We have received an excellent 4 star rating from the Meuble de Tourism. This stylishly renovated barn in the heart of Burgundy, on a hilltop, Gite Hauteloup offers stunning 360° views of the Burgundy countryside. Set in 2.5 acres of beautiful countryside we offer dog friendly holidays including a dog minding service if you wish to go out for the day and not take your dog with you! We are on the outskirts of the Morvan National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are just 10 minutes from Bourbon Lancy a thermal spa town, with all amenities. Luzy, is just 15 minutes away and Autun, a historic roman town with 12th century Cathedrale Saint-Lazare which is a national monument of France is just 45 minutes away.
Gite Hauteloup was originally an 19th century cattle barn and has been completely renovated to offer spacious accommodation over 2 floors. There is a large entrance hall with an area for dog beds and a utility area with washing machine. There is also a downstairs toilette with marble topped wash stand and vasque basin. The brand new adjoining kitchen/diner has a double oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher and a large island breakfast bar which seats four. There is a large dining table to seat six and a wide screen television with freeview box. The new plafond Francaise, traditional French beamed ceiling gives character to the property. The downstairs area has a tiled floor with underfloor heating for those wishing to stay out of the warm summer months. There is a spacious lounge with two large sofas and also additional seating by the large patio doors for those wishing to sit and admire the view. There is a large wide screen television with satellite offering British and French television channels and a Bluray DVD player with surround sound. We also have WIFI, a must for those wishing to stay connected to the outside world!! From the front of the lounge is a spacious terrace with a garden sofa, chairs, table & parasol and the a further terrace with a beautiful kidney shaped heated pool. This is 8m by 4m by 1.20m deep. There is a new gazebo with table & chairs and flower borders offering shade from the sun. The south facing walled terrace receives sun from first thing in the morning until early evening. The terrace to the rear of the lounge accessed by patio doors is in shade in the morning but is sunny from late morning until sunset. A beautiful place to spend the evening. There is a table which seats six and a brick built barbecue for alfresco dining. The rear garden is fenced and secure for children and dogs. There is a pretty flower border and patio tubs. The private garden is large with a few shrubs and plenty of space for children to play and dogs to run around. The upstairs of the property which is reached by a large wooden open tread staircase has wooden floors and traditional Victorian radiators. At the top of the staircase is a beautiful cast iron wolf or Loup in French which is where the property takes it’s name from. This was designed for us by a metal worker in our village, along with the gates!! The main bedroom with it’s open balcony is decorated in French shabby chic style with traditional bedside cabinets a cast iron bedstead and a wardrobe. The ceilings are high into the roof making the rooms spacious and airy. The ensuite claw footed baignoire offers a touch of luxury. The second bedroom reached off a small hallway has a double bed, bedside cabinets and an old French armoire or wardrobe. There is a spacious ensuite shower room with a large shower with anti-slip shower tray, sink and toilet. The third bedroom also off the hallway is a twin room with two single beds, a bedside cabinet and armoire. This also has an ensuite shower room with large shower and anti-slip shower tray, sink and toilet. There is a spacious carpark to the side of the house with enough parking for three cars. We have a large selection of books for both adults and children, DVD’s board games, a badminton set, outdoor Jenga and Boules or Petanque, pool games, pool noodles and some inflatable pool toys. There is a riding stable in the next village for Equestrian enthusiasts. There are 6 golf courses within 40 kilometres of the property. There are plenty of places nearby for dog walking and just to the south of Bourbon Lancy on the Loire river is a sandy beach which is perfect for dogs! In the summer months the water is quite shallow and great for dogs to swim in! This is also a good place for fishing or canoeing!

Lovely stay was relaxed until I got back to email from owner
I couldn’t fault Gite apart from garden furniture being tired and warped. As long as you know its attached to the Owners and them sharing the large garden with 4 big dogs. (Sadly we had missed that bit…) But we made best of it and had a lovely relaxing time until last day of the holiday when I was just about to go in the pool they had put the hose to fill the pool up and the robot vacuum in at 1-4pm on day before we left (why??) Worse bit we got home to a text from owner to say that she was ‘disappointed in state of the kitchen and it took ages to clean’ we had wiped with products provided and tidied kitchen fully we had left a few bits of nice goodies for the next holiday makers (beer, eggs, part baked bread etc) but we asked owner beforehand and she said yes as was was even going to give the sweet potatoes to her poorly dog. This has TOTALLY spoiled our holiday experience. We have never had comments like this from owners previously. But we shouldn’t have been surprised as all we heard were complaints about the previous the booking leaving it disguising with wine spilt everywhere etc etc. It is such a sad ending to what was a lovely holiday.

Relaxing Comfortable stay
Large and modern property, with lots of space to live in, front and back terraces, two reception rooms, and kitchen with all the cooking utensils you could need. Very clean throughout. Very peaceful location, but still well situated for touring around the region. Karen and Tim couldn't do enough to ensure we were comfortable, and helped us with directions and opening times for places to visit. Thanks for a relaxing holiday.

Amazing place !
We really enjoyed Gite Hauteloup. They made sure to provide all the necessities and more. The communication with the host was also very easy. One of the main benefits was our two dogs, that were welcomed with love and really enjoyed the large grounds. Would recommend highly!

Excellent dog friendly holiday.
Spent a great week at Hauteloop gite. Karen and Tim were perfect hosts. The accommodation was superb. The standard is excellent and very well furnished. Our two daughters especially loved the pool. We took our dog way for the first time this year and were a little apprehensive how well it would go. We needn't have worried. Hauteloop is the perfect dog friendly place. Loads of space and everything has been thought of. We would definately recommend! Thanks!

Wonderful stay
We had a wonderful stay at this Gite. It is very well equipped with everything you could be and more. The games selection was a hit with our son as was the gorgeous pool. The dog enjoyed staying and meeting the resident dogs who are all very friendly. Feeding the goats is a wonderful experience. Tim and Karen were extremely helpful prior to our stay helping with lots of requests and emails I sent (sorry Karen!) Karen even made a scrumptious birthday cake as a surprise for my son. The owners go out of their way to make the stay as good as possible. From dog walks to restaurant recommendations they were very helpful. We would love to return for the peace and quiet in beautiful countryside with a wonderful comfortable gite. Thank you!!

Great house, wonderful hosts, magnificent area and views.
The five of us spend two weeks in the house, we had a great time. House is very well equipped. Karen and Tim are ready to help and provide directions to stores, restaurants etc, but don't intrude on your privacy. House got magnificent views. Great area for cycling and walking. Nicely rural and quite. Can truly recommend.

Beautiful renovated barn in tranquil, rural France.
The property is beautifully decorated with spacious rooms throughout. The kitchen, very well equipped, is a lovely area where the whole family can socialise. The outside space has 2 patio areas to fully enjoy the Sun throughout the day and is safe for the dog to play in. No need to fight over the shower as all 3 bedrooms are en suite. The owner's, right next door were most welcoming giving us valuable information on the local area and booked the vets appointment for us. The welcome basket a lovely selection for supper after a long drive and breakfast next morning and a real treat of a local bottle of bubbly! The pool just topped it all off. Thank you for making our holiday so relaxing and comfortable.
