Really lovely chalet, clean and fresh, comfortable sofa and beds, great directions for getting to the correct chalet which was extra helpful to me! Everything we could need inside and plenty of space in the living area for eating, games and relaxing. Would absolutely return!

This chalet was all we could have wished for. It was well laid out throughout. It was easily accessible with good parking. No Wi-Fi meant no phones going off, which was an absolute pleasure. We would recommend this to anyone.

Thanks for your great review, we really do appreciate it..We must point out to others that although there is no wi-fi, Smartphone reception is good, so it might just be a lucky co-incidence that you weren't disturbed!

The property has a coin-operated power meter, which is archaic as it sounds! Who uses coins in 2023?? We were informed a few days before the booking that we needed to bring coins for the power, and were advised we'd need £5 - £8 per day in winter. So on the day we headed to the Chalet, we spent a lot of effort trying to obtain enough coins for our stay, and as international travellers, this wasn't as easy as it sounds! We eventually obtained £18, and figured that'd get us 2-3 days, and we'd get more once we were there.. One hour after getting into the place and turning on the headers to warm it up, we'd already burned £3. We loaded it up with our remaining coins (£15), had dinner, went to bed, and only left 2 heaters running overnight - to stop ourselves freezing! In the morning there was barely £1 left on the meter when we go up... There were no extra blankets, so had we not put extra coins in the machine, we'd have had an incredibly cold night! In 12 hours, we'd spent £18! So much for the £8 we were supposed to need... The experience was so uncomfortable, we found new accommodation and left that morning. 1 day into our 4 day stay. To ne clear, it's not about the raw money cost - we booked a more expensive apartment to stay at instead. It was the experience of having to find coins, put them into the meter, and keep an eye on it. All while the meter was literally clicking loudly! Just charge an extra $50 per night and remove the meter!!

Hi Stephen, We are disappointed by your review, which does not reflect the overall experience of 98% of our hundreds of other guests, who rate us 8.8 on Wotif, Expedia and ALL other main online agency websites. Most of our guests are highly complimentary about the style, decor and value for money, despite the minor inconvenience of having to use a coin- operated electricity meter, which you were informed about on the website and at booking stage. It's a pity you found it hard to cope with a system probably not common in the USA, and we are sorry you found if difficult getting coins in London. The pace of living is slower down here, It's not London or New York, which is why this area is so popular. One room at a hotel in Dartmouth with no parking and at more than double the total cost of our chalet and electricity, would probably have suited you better. As for suggesting we charge an extra 50 dollars(?) a night for un-restricted use of heaters, I'm afraid we would be too expensive and we would not have a business. We are sorry that you found it cold at night, but if you had contacted us we would have provided you with blankets, which we now have permanently in both of our chalets. Most people in Devon and UK do not have heaters on all night as we do not have cheap oil or gas and it's too expensive, and many can not now afford to heat their homes atall, let alone take a holiday. Our guests currently spend average 2-4 per day on electricity April to October, 4 -8 November to March, at cost price, since the latest adjusted price rises, but we feel our stylish and comfortable chalets are still very good value for money.

A fantastic lazy, hazy, much needed getaway. The accommodation is spacious and has everything required for a holiday in Dartmouth. Supermarkets are a easy 5 min drive and beautiful Dartmouth 10 minutes down the hill. The owner is an absolute treasure and nothing is to much trouble. A hidden gem and my family and I have already decided to make a return trip. Thank you so much.

Great location, compact but very comfortable.
Great place overall, location is good and nice and peaceful. You'll need to go to the park and ride to go into Dartmouth as the parking in Dartmouth is challenging and limited to 2 hours almost everywhere. The accommodation is functional and comfortable. Electric meter takes pound coins which was novel but no big deal and a few pounds seemed to go a long way. No wifi. For children in the evening this may be unusual but it is understandable because of situation. Really lovely central place to stay to explore made up for these very minor inconveniences.

Thankyou for a nice and very fair review. We would love to have Wifi but there is no phone line. There is good Smartphone reception, however, and opportunity to connect tv up to phone.

Thanks for nice review.Appologies for meter appetite, very unusual to be that cold outside. Average now (2023) is 4- 8 per day in Winter.
