"Last minute booking. Host was incredibly accommodating with a late check in and some food on arrival. Nice, big double room with en-suite and good facilities. Excellent breakfast included in the very reasonable price. Accommodation was enough to M1 to be handy for commute, whilst also being out in the countryside and a very picturesque spot. "Did not get room that paid for. Room that we were given had dirty carpet dirty and not been vaccumed. Room had broken room window held open (heat wave in England) with piece of wood. Breakfast limited. No yogurt or fruit. Given butter for toast from a container in the kitchen and it was full of other people's crumbs and unidentified food. When complained to the Manager from London who was there to "sort out the hotel" - he was dismissive. Told me that it was cross contaminatied BUT that it was...

"What a great find - really lovely, small house with just a few, very well appointed rooms. Free use of a well equipped kitchen, lounge and dining room, all only used by the guests. Host was very helpful, friendly and welcoming. Could not fault it, great value and very easy access to the M1."

"Can't review hotel as never actually stayed there as they relocated us to another hotel saying it would meet our booking which was family room for 2 and breakfast, what we got was a single room with double bed and no breakfast, so spent weekend sleeping with my 40year old daughter with no breakfast not what was planned. They did refund £20 which was used for taxis because it was so far from where we needed to be."

"Very basic 2 star but had everything you’d expect except breakfast. Beds were comfortable, everything was clean, including the bathrooms which is rare in a shared bathroom place. Recommended for the price you pay. Staff were lovely. "

"Well furnished and well equipped place which was clean and stylish. We only stayed a couple of nights but enjoyed the peace and break away. We had a lovely meal at The Stag and Hounds- would highly recommend. John was always there if we needed him and was very informative."

"We rented this house for my daughter's hen weekend the house was stunning in an amazing location with great facilities. We could not find fault with the house it accommodated 20 of us amply. All types of celebrations are catered for here from a formal dinner, to a party to a film night and even quiet relaxation in the pool and hot tub.
