Enjoyable stay and cycle ride in Rowde

We had a lovely long weekend stay at Vine Cottage. Ben and Mary are superb hosts and very helpful with knowledge of the local area and where to eat, etc. The breakfasts were delicious and the room very comfortable. The B&B is in an ideal location to access the Kennet and Avon canal towpath at Caen Hill Locks, which is in easy walking and cycling distance.

Feriens skønneste overnatningssted

Det var et fantastisk ophold hos Ben og Mary. Bed & Breakfast i særklasse, værelset var i top. Morgenmad med alt hvad man kan ønske sig og ikke mindst parrets store venlighed og gæstfrihed. Huset har en dejlig beliggenhed få kilometer fra byen Devize - vi spiste god mad på den lokale pub, og i gåafstand kan man opleve de seværdige locker - 29 sluser fordelt over 1.5 km.

Great place to stay

This is a lovely friendly place to stay. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast one of the best we’ve had. It’s close to a lot of places like Lower Slaughter which is well worth a visit.

Country village b&b

Lovely cottage b&b, convenient for visiting many tourist attractions. Friendly people in the village. Excellent hosts, good choice of local produce at breakfast - nicely cooked. Ben and Mary have thought of everything to make this an enjoyable and comfortable stay. I would definitely stay here again.

オーナー夫妻の温かいもてなし

静かな街にたたずむB&B。とてもセンスがよく、清潔感がある。オーナー夫妻は明るくて親切。朝ごはんが美味しい。シャワー設備がやや不便だったがそれ以外は最高でした。

オーナーさんが素晴らしい

こじんまりしたBBですがとても気持ちよく宿泊できました。オーナーさんご夫妻が、お話し好きで、沢山お話ししました。朝食はフルイングリッシュブレックファーストをアレンジしたものわで、美味しいし、量も食べきれないほどでした。

This was a great guest house

This was a great guest house, we received a warm welcome on arrival, the service through out or stay was superb. It was a little of the beaten track but it was well covered by the local bus and taxi service.

Delighted in Devizes

All in all it was excellent. Company was congenial - and I don't find conversation easy, so that tells yo how good it was. Food was splendid. Accommodation had everything one needed. Ben and Mary spared no effort to make us enjoy the stay. Thank you very much!

The room was very comfortable with good facilities. Mary and Ben were very welcoming and offered a great service and a delicious breakfast spread. I struggled for a mobile phone signal on O2.

(Di)Vine Cottage!!!

We chose Vine Cottage because of its proximity to Stonehenge, not knowing anything else about it, but were delighted to find ourselves in the perfect B&B for our first night in England, and the best B&B of our visit. Ben and Mary were wonderful, gracious, and welcoming hosts. Not only did they take great care of us, but they were incredibly helpful and patient in orienting this newly arrived clutch of disoriented Yanks. The setting--in the small town of Rowde--was charming. The cottage's back garden, complete with flowers and chickens (fresh eggs at breakfast!) was lovely and fresh. Our daughter, who loves animals, admired the donkeys in the pasture across from the cottage. Rowde is a traditional English town, with thatched homes, walking paths, and narrow roads. After an excellent breakfast (we recommend 'Ben's Mess'), Ben and Mary sent us on a walk to a local canal that boasts a set of 16 working locks. A beautiful sight! We regretted that we had booked for only a night, and would have enjoyed exploring Rowde and its surroundings further--maybe next time! We would definitely do it again.

Great hospitality at Vine Cottage

Great hosts (Mary and Ben) and superb breakfast stand out. Loved the shower in the Blue Room. Vine Cottage is a good base for checking out the White Horse, Wadworth Brewery and Devizes. Would certainly stay again.

Triple room - 1 night stay

Mary & Ben makes you feel like home with lots of advice for the area if needed. We stayed in Pink room with a king bed and extra bed as were looking for a triple room, which is not easy task within the area. Had a great night sleep. Very comfy. Powerful shower with lovely toiletries. And breakfast that Ben makes was delicious!

Nice cottage near interesting sites like Stonehenge and Bath, we very much appreciated the warm, friendly hospitality and the wonderful breakfast! The room was very nice and clean, everything was perfect.

Fantastic B&B!

Loved everything about this place, from the welcoming letter prior to our arrival, the warm welcome and helpful advice from Mary and Ben, to the excellent breakfast in the morning; 'Ben's Mess' is highly recommended! Lovely, spotless room, nice garden with chickens and a friendly cat, great food nearby, nice walking opportunities. Will definitely visit again when in the area!

Clean, comfortable B & B with charm & fab cuisine!

Well this little place is a real find. Mary and Ben are a real treat, their breakfast is to die for. But for me it was all the little touches in the room that did it for me- drinking glasses and teacup covered in clear wrap, and even the toilet roll had a sealed sticker on it! And I loved the African tissues holder!
