Mountain Escape ✨
This property was wonderful for our big group. We spent most of our time at purgatory resort and this house was such a small commute to the mountain! The hot tub was so nice in the evening to get in after a long day of skiing. The scenery was beautiful and such a peaceful location. Even with our group, the house is spacious enough that it definitely never felt crowded. All of us slept very comfortably! We would definitely stay here again if in the area!

Beautiful Place!
We were there for a Jeep trip to Silverton. It's a decent drive to Silverton, but the extra hour and half round trip was scenic. We had 7 adult guests with plenty of room for all of us. The hot tub worked and was comfortable with two, maybe three adults. They had everything we needed for our stay with a fully stocked kitchen. It even has a sealy posturpedic in the master bedroom! I made sure to pay more for my share to get the master bedroom. The only issue we had was the radiant heat did not work and the house was cold. This wasn't too big of deal for September, but the downstairs bedrooms were in the 50's. I contacted management and was told to go to the mechanical room to check the boiler, which was "self explanatory". I'm a technical person in a high tech field and it was not "self explanatory" and the boiler was not working with no way to turn it on. We were told they would send someone out the following day, but I never heard back from the management company and it never worked while we were there. That was disappointing and the trip would have been 5 star otherwise.

Beautiful property and lovely home - with some caveats.
We rented the house for a large family reunion/vacation. Durango is spectacular and we enjoyed every aspect of it -- mountain biking, rock climbing, rafting and hiking. The house is nestled in a beautiful aspen grove and we saw two bears while sitting on the deck in the early morning which was exciting for everyone. The house itself was clean and it well designed for a large group however there are some important notes to mention that require more context. The water is truly horrible and you will need to buy several jugs of water every other day for coffee, drinking and cooking, the hot tub cover has collapsed on one side and is waterlogged and takes three strong people to open and close it, the hot water heater needs to be overridden every day to have enough for showers and dishwasher and there are no instructions or details on this in the house book (we had to call several numbers to get instructions), the house has Starlink but does not include any instructions or details on how to adjust or manage (take it inside in lighting storm?), gas fire pit has no instructions or details on how to use (you need a special tool to turn it on we discovered), and only one roll of toilet paper was provided. It just seems like a rental house that has been mildly left on it's own over the last few years (refrigerator light out, soccer balls deflated, darts trashed, french press cracked, knives blunt, lightbulbs burned out, etc.) and needs a full review of its contents. I offered to share all of this privately with the owner and property company but they didn't follow up.

We enjoyed our stay. The setup of rooms was ideal for our 3 different families to all have little space. The kitchen was well stocked and the ping pong table was fun. Ideally, new mattresses are needed. Also, the water is pretty terrible. Believe them and bring bottled.

Durango ski trip
Overall this property was great for our needs with our group. The Wi-Fi was spotty as described. They were very responsive to the issue with the hot tub as well and property manager came out to check it asap when we had difficulty connecting with the hot tub company. Overall was a great location and house.

Great place in the mountains!
We had a wonderful stay at this property. You definitely need four wheel drive to get into the neighborhood in winter but it was well worth it. The snow was beautiful and the hot tub was dreamy. It was very clean inside and the hosts were very friendly!

Thanksgiving at the Chalet
Our family of 7 had a wonderful Thanksgiving week at The Aspen Chalet! Ages range from 5-58, everyone loved the cabin. The game room in the garage was great for the kids to get their energy out! The kitchen had just about everything we needed to make our large Thanksgiving meal. The kids loved the bunkbeds. Teens loved their own spaces and we loved the suit with our private balcony. We hope to return soon!

Pictures Don't Do it Justice!
This house was incredible. We had the best time. The views from the front deck and back balcony were stunning. Being surrounded by the aspens created a calming and serene environment. The house had plenty of room for the 11 of us! We made some great memories and we cannot wait to go back! The house was well stocked and it had everything we needed, and more! I cannot recommend this place enough. We will be back! * My only suggestion would be to bring bottled water for drinking and making coffee, tea, etc...
