"Our stay was spoilt by the unpleasant verbal and aggressive attitude of our neighbours. Because we had it transpired, parked in their designated parking bay on our first day. We did receive the instructions for the correct parking space for our property until the following day. I would suggest the correct bay is marked clearly with the house number, so future guests don’t experience the same rudeness and verbal abuse we did."

"The room was clean and well presented however the fixtures and fittings in our room were insecure and were nearly falling off the wall. (toilet roll holder & the shower). The staff were very overworked on the day we arrived, the key was handed to us and we were sent on our way with no real welcome process. We later ordered some food and drink from the bar menu, it took 15 mins to order the food & drink at the bar. Our Starter then took an hour and fifteen minutes to arrive. the main course was a further 45 Minutes. My steak arrived with the fat not rendered down or cooked and and the steak was not cooked as i asked (medium rare) in fact it looked like it has been cooked in a microwave. The staff were massively overloaded with work on the night with around 4-6 staff trying to run the bar and the restaurant and they couldn't keep up. Im not sure if we arrived on a bad night or this is how the place is usually operated. the following morning the breakfast was disappointing with only a few cold cuts of meat and some cheese on offer alongside a selection of anaemic looking pastries with not hot options at all. I realise this was a low(ish) cost hotel booking (£80), but I would not recommend or look to stay at again."

"This is my go to place when I’m in the area with work. It’s more homely than national brands, and the staff make the place! The food is good and the great beer on tap, as well as a selection of other tasty drinks. They don’t have air-con and the floorboards can squeak, the parking can be a challenge, especially when busy. Depending on what room you could hear the noise of other guests or the workings of the hotel, but they are clean. Breakfast is late for lots of places as it starts at 7.30, which is fine if you’re local and don’t have to be in early. The breakfast menu items have changed recently & aren’t reflected on the paper version, like mini croissants and pastries. In my opinion this detracts slightly and can make it a challenge for those in a rush."
