The room was really clean and the staff were lovely. Check in was very fast and easy and the staff all spoke very good English which was very helpful! However, unfortunately the area around the hotel felt very unsafe. Lots of homeless people and immigrants around the local area, near the central station. We felt like we only felt safe once we got into our hotel room. Evenings and night time felt especially unsafe.

It has two sides

I have stayed here a couple of times before and greatly enjoyed the older but very good condition of the property (except the elevator that doesn’t work). This time, however, we were put in a room that could only be called shabby….the rug, the curtains, and the table in particular, were just that. The bed was comfortable. Everything including the bathroom was clean, the halls and downstairs fine. It still is very convenient to the main train station.

Great for the price but the area is getting seedier and seedier every year. Lift did not work the entire time i was there and doesnt seem to be any efforts to get it going but they are not alone. Hotel Continental next door has the same issue. Staff friendly and helpful

It was very cheap so you shouldn't have any expectations. The location is very near to the main station that was the main reason for booking. Not bad not good just for sleeping.

The elevator in the hotel was out of order for our 7-night stay. The refrigerator in my room did not work. The hotel did not have air conditioning. We could open the windows, but there were no screens, so the mosquitoes came in. Trying to sleep while swatting at mosquitos does not make for a good night’s sleep. When we booked the hotel, we wanted breakfast to be included. When we got there, we found this meant that breakfast was available for a fee. The hotel was not in a desirable part of Frankfurt. The bathroom was small but adequate. The hotel was clean, and the room was taken care of every day.

A rather grand hotel built in 1898… a shame it’s no longer in its glory days…. The staff were nice and friendly…. Dispute the fact the rooms are meant to be non-smoking… I could smell that someone had smoked in the room at some stage. Bed was comfortable. TV worked… bar fridge in room but no tea/coffee facilities.

The hotel was reasonably priced. easy to find and very convenient for transport links to the airport and Frankfurt Stadium, being very close to the main train station. Turning towards the river it was quiet and easy to walk to the museums. going the other way was much busier and not as nice being right by the station. The room was very clean and tidy but I couldn't get the safe to work and some of the fittings and fixtures were getting quite worn.

A seemingly little known gem!

I love this place... a little known gem with the older elegance of 14ft ceilings, chandeliers, double doors to the rooms, (elegant curtains!) and a big modern bathroom with a tub! It is convenient... half a block from the main train station, on the quieter side towards the river. (I am 77 but feel safe here.) There is a big comfortable downstairs sitting area. Although on a main street, the windows are thick and keep out the noise. It serves a modest breakfast for 9 euros. The down side is that the elevator doesn't work. There are hair dryers in the rooms but no coffee/tea pot in the rooms, if you feel you need it rather than having it downstairs in the dining room.
