Lovely clean hotel the staff were very helpful and friendly, very handy location if using the ferry terminal at Cairn Ryan

We booked through Hotels.com needed a last minute overnight in Oban. The pictures of standard double rooms looked ok. On arrival the outside of the hotel was very shabby & the car park full of litter. Inside wasn’t much better, the bar had been upgraded & looked ok but we didn’t use it. Reception gave us our key & we went to our room it was nothing like the photos on Hotels.com it was very shabby, dated, depressing & awful. We went back to reception & said it wasn’t what we were expecting they tried to tell us the photos were of rooms in their Bespoke chain of hotels. I said that they were misleading & we had been mid sold. They gave us a key to another room for us to look at saying we would like it. It was worse than the first one. Back to reception we went & said it was worse they informed us the hotel was under renovation & we couldn’t expect a room like on Hotels.com but they gave us another key & took us to look, it had been modernised & was slightly like the ones in the picture but it was still shabby, old window, stains on carpet, scuffed walls & woodwork not what we are used to. We stayed but would not recommend or stay again. If I were Hotdls.com I would remove it from the website as it is not fit for purpose & is very undesirable accommodation.

Loved our room with a sea view nicely decorated mattress was brilliant brand new slept like a log both nights great location would definitely go back
