Romantic, Private, Peaceful Villa in Gaucin With Breathtaking Views To Morocco

Villa Djebel Musa is a romantic, well maintained, architect-designed villa with an infinity pool. The garden is a mixture of mature exotic palms amongst the rocks as well as wild olives and carobs filled with songbirds on top of a hillside at the southern edge of the pretty 'white village' of Gaucin.

"The best view we have seen in Spain" said one travel company. "A truly stunning property with 'wow factor'!"

Gaucin is 600 metres (2000 ft) above sea level and the secluded villa and pool afford spectacular open views down the Genal River valley to the Mediterranean and North Africa beyond. The altitude moderates temperatures in the summer compared to the coast or inland Spain. There are 3 'fine-dining' restaurants with a walk of less than 10 minutes and several good tapas bars and other restaurants.

The villa has a double-height open-plan living room with a minstrels' gallery leading to a large covered veranda. Through an archway there is dining room which leads to its own covered, outdoor dining terrace.

4 of the 5 bedrooms and the main living rooms have French windows onto their own terrace or balcony and there are other terraces around the garden.

Terracotta floors, bright rugs, Moroccan pots, comfortable seating inside and out, Satellite TV, WiFi, flowers, views, birds, sunshine!

If your dates are not available, we also manage the neighbouring villa which has the same views and an infinity pool. On the VRBO website it is titled "Luxurious, Private, Villa in Gaucin".

A few extra notes:
- A gardener visits very early morning in hot weather to water pots, a daily pool-cleaner, a multilingual House Manager and two lovely cleaners.
- It has secure off-street parking for 2 cars. Further cars can be easily parked nearby.
- The base price indicated per night or week is based on 6 people staying. For each additional person up to a max of 10 there is an extra charge to cover laundry and cleaning. The "Host Fee" in your quote is the final cleaning charge.
- Flat screen TV with Internet television & collection of Blu Ray films.
- The village centre is only a few minutes walk for tapas, restaurants, shops.
- Children are welcome but parents must consider that there are stairs down to the swimming pool and steep drops below the pool so young children will need constant supervision.

Lovely villa in beautiful area

We had a great week staying at the villa. The views are amazing and we had everything we needed for our holiday. I'd advise any guests with a large car to avoid driving through the village - you can park near the bus stop on the main road and it's less than a 10 min walk.

Breathtaking Great Owners

We loved Christmas 2024 in Gaucin at this lovely home. The property is just sublime, with views that take your breath away.Mark and Star, the owners, were incredibly helpful and thoughtful with their communication - which made our trip to Spain unforgettable. We highly recommend Maria, a personal chef, who is able to prepare special meals at this property.

Ruby Anniversary Family Holiday

Beautiful spanish property stylishly perched on the side of the hill to make the most of the stunning views down to the coast with Morocco beyond. Beautiful villa and village

A1 location, incredibly relaxed and great hosts, Mark & Star, who happened to be around and asked us for lovely drinks at their other property. So relaxed in fact, that I read 3+ books in a week. Plenty of great eateries, although we did BBQ twice too.

Cycling Holiday

Beautiful house in a nice village with many top notch restaurants. Areas to the north offered excellent and varied road cycling. Cycleronda in Ronda offered great suppprt for our cycling holiday.

Fabulous house in perfect location

We loved our stay here - the house was brilliantly equipped and had spectacular views across to the rock of Gibraltar. We spent most days on the patio area by the pool watching the amazing bird life and views while the kids enjoyed the lovely pool. Then a short walk and we were in Gaucin with its great tapas bars and restaurants. This was without doubt one of the best holiday houses we have stayed in.

An 80th Birthday Celebration

We were very happy to be staying in such a lovely location We all loved the village of Gauchin and the small supermarkets met all our requirements. We drove down to the coast twice to swim in the sea and enjoy the beaches and even got up early to catch a ferry to spend the day in Tangier. As for the house it lived up to all our expectations and the infinity pool was just lovely with lots of shade/sunny spots around the pool. The well stocked garden was a joy to walk around and was tended by a gardener.We would love to come back one day. Thank you Mark for being the perfect host.

Amazing house with outstanding views!

Fantastic house with amazing views of mountain valley, Gibraltar, Mediterranean, all the way to Morocco! Gaucin in a wonderful village with several bars and restaurants within its narrow winding roads (get a small car) Host was a great communicator and did everything possible to make sure we were happy and comfortable.

Amazing Villa in the white villages of Andalucia

What a lovely villa and surrounding area! Gaucin was the perfect village for our group - within walking distant and a number of fabulous restaurants to choose from with breathtaking views. But I also would have been content to never leave the grounds. Views are stunning and the pool provided a deep, refreshing respite from the summer heat. Mark was a fantastic host and met our every need. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Fabulous!

A wonderful property but could do with a little updating in one of the bathrooms and the kitchen. But overall it is a great property with nice bedrooms and living spaces and with glorious views towards Gibraltar and Morocco. The pool area is really magnificent as are the outdoor dining areas. It would be difficult to find better elsewhere!

Wonderful week in Gaucin

Had a truly lovely week in this fabulous villa. From the moment we booked contact with the hosts was efficient with lots of useful information, a map to get to the villa (much needed initially) and recommendations and tips about the restaurants and bars. The villa itself is wonderful and comfortable with everything you need and only a short stroll into beautiful Gaucin. However the crowning glory is the outside space, the pool and in particular the views which are quite special. Would happily recommend a stay to anyone and hope one day to return.

Family holiday in Gaucin

It was a real pleasure to return with my grown-up children to the house built by my step-mother and late father twenty years ago, and our stay was peaceful, private and luxurious. It was a joy to see the olives,carobs and pomegranates in the garden. Anyone who has seen the view from this house will have it etched on their memory forever. The weather was fine all week, and we swam every day - not bad for October!

Beautiful villa in wonderful mountain village location with stunning views.

We were not disappointed when arriving at the villa. The property is amazing - spacious and beautifully decorated. As a multi-generational family of 9, we had all we could possibly need. Space, great weather - the grandchildren fully enjoyed the pool, wonderful walks and the most breathtaking and stunning views. When not in the water, the children spent their time vulture spotting. Mark is a superb host and helped us source medical care for a family emergency. He responded quickly to emails and was only a phone call away if needed. We certainly all fell in love with the village and I would highly recommend a stay there.

Stay at Gaucin

We had a magical stay at Mark and Star’s Villa in Gaucin. The pictures do not do the location and views justice, a truly stunning place. There was ample room for the 8 guests with various spaces to relax, eat and sunbathe, and we particularly enjoyed eating as the sun set on the terrace. Gaucin is a great place with lots of restaurants and groceries available and we were lucky enough to be at the first food festival held over the weekend. As with other reviews the are a few things in the villa that could be updated, but this did not deter from the stay. I really didn’t want leave and to me that says everything about the villa and hosts

What Memories are made of.....

We like others had planned our stay in Gaucin sometime ago, postponing several times during Covid. Our stay in Villa Djebel was certainly worth the wait. The online photos don't fully capture the magical nature of this stunning home and its sensational views. Fantastic Villa, Wonderful Location and Views

We visited end of October for a week, with 3 generations of family. The villa is fantastic, views were amazing and just a short stroll to lovely tapas bars. We visited Ronda, Estepona and met up with other local family, as well as spending a few days just chilling out at the Villa enjoying the peace, pool and views. The Gaucin roads are a little daunting, but we had a 9 seater mini-van and after a couple of days quickly got used to the tight spots! Mark was fantastic in his communication, never took longer than 30 mins to get back to me, even when on a trip to Costa Rica. Would not hesitate to recommend or return.
