"I stay here a lot because of proximity to Penn Station and generally good prices. On this stay the prices jumped up 3x mid stay. The property itself, while having a classic grand and very buzzy/crowded lobby, has a rundown feel in the room area. The hall carpets are worn and taped, the rooms cramped and old-feeling. No room fridge or coffee maker, tiny closet and substandard plumbing that's noisy at night and with very erratic water temperature. In a neighborhood that's both mobbed with tourists and full of aggressive homeless."

"Air conditioning wasn’t super strong - it wasn’t even hot outside - but the room wasn’t hot. Fridge worked. The property had a few cosmetic maintenance issues (holes in grout and caulk, peeling paint) but was really quiet for NYC and was perfectly functional for sleeping. Not luxurious but I was only there to sleep. Property requires a cash deposit which is given back at end of stay. "

"The hotel is in a convenient location of the upper east side. Put room was terrific with nice views of the city and the east river. For a New York City hotel room it was actually on the large side. We enjoyed our stay."

"We were very disappointed in our experience, and the unpleasant staff. When I checked out I told the desk clerk that I was unhappy with my stay, and he just looked at me and handed me my receipt. Will be leaving a review on yelp."

"It is a nice size room for NY, clean and functional. We rented a room with two double beds (4 adults) and we all were comfortable. It is fairly quiet, the neighborhood is decent, subway is just 150 feet from the hotel door and it is a short walk to Central Park. Great restaurants in the area on Amsterdam Ave. Staff were very friendly and helpful and didn't mind keeping our suitcases on the last day after check out until we had to head to the airport. Will definitely book here again when I go to NY"
