We loved this hotel. It was perfect location for every thing we like to do in NYC. Staff was amazing. The gentleman who helped us was friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcomed. The Starbucks inside has limited items but was great. We paid for view rooms and it was beautiful. We also did the connecting suite for my husband and I and then our kids which was perfect. We will definitely stay here again.
Overall it was a wondersful experience. The breakfast at Hudson was very popular and the staff did a great job even though there was a wrap around line. All employees that I encountered were very helpful and friendly.
Our room itself was incredibly clean and the staff was very friendly. The only issue that we had was how long the line was to check in. We stood on line for almost an hour while only 2-3 staff members were assisting with a 100+ person line that stretched out the door - and we arrived exactly on time for our check in. Other than that everything else was great, but that definitely needs to be rectified in the future.
The hotel was very busy, clean but a little dated. They have an older bathtub; no walkin shower. It was neat and clean. The beds were nice and comfortable.
What I liked most about the hotel was that they have a restaurant right off from the lobby. We were able to get a bite to eat after a long day flying and a 45 minute ride from the airport. The Yellow cab took us the long way to get to the hotel so he can make more money. Leaving the hotel we took an Explorer back and got to the airport within 25 minutes.
The cleaning staff was wonderful—very kind, attentive, and always willing to help whenever we needed anything extra. They went above and beyond, especially when my child became sick. They promptly provided extra soap, clean towels, and made sure our room was cleaned thoroughly, which we truly appreciated.
We also had an emergency with the sink plumbing, and the maintenance team responded immediately and resolved the issue right away.
Overall, the staff's kindness, professionalism, and quick response made our stay much more comfortable. We are very grateful for their excellent service.
The room was clean but the fridge did not stay closed so I couldn’t keep my water and drinks cold or my left over food. They didn’t have wash cloths most of the time. The beds were so high could barely get in them without jumping. It was in a nice location though close to subway and all the action just a couple blocks away.

I booked a two-bedroom room but was surprised by how small the rooms were. My wife called to order room service, only to find out that the hotel no longer offers it because it is under new management. This was disappointing, as we weren't informed ahead of time.
The elevator situation was one of the biggest frustrations during our stay. Since our room was on the 11th floor, my family and I regularly waited 5 to 10 minutes just to get an elevator.
I also think the staff could be more accommodating when it comes to allowing guests to use the restroom while waiting to check in. After traveling for hours, it's unreasonable to expect guests to wait until they receive their room key before they can use the facilities.
Overall, the long check-in process, crowded lobby, slow elevators, and lack of room service made our stay less enjoyable than we had anticipated.
They charge $6 per bag to hold them when you check out in morn if you still have the day to spend in the city. I’ve never had to pay for that at any hotel I’ve stayed at before. They also charge $38 a day for their “fee”. They do offer a $35 credit a day for food or drink to off set that I guess. We decided to get Starbucks the next morning to use the credit and waited almost 45 minutes for our order to only be incorrect. The lattes we ordered had no flavor and the chia was very off. Complete waste of time and the credit. Air conditioner wasn’t cooling efficiently. They did send someone up very quickly. He was able to get the room a little cooler and we got a fan brought to room . Room was clean and comfortable. Mattresses were a bit too soft for my liking but I know some would love it.

Sheraton Times Square is in a fantastic location, right between Central Park and Times Square. We walked almost everywhere during our stay. The area felt safe, and at the same time we avoided being in the middle of the busiest crowds all day.
The hotel itself is huge, and that’s both its biggest advantage and its biggest challenge. Because of the number of guests, you should be prepared to wait—for the elevators, check-in, luggage storage, and even breakfast.
My recommendation would be to skip the breakfast package. The breakfast itself is actually very good, but in my opinion it’s not worth the long queues and the crowded dining room, especially when there are so many great breakfast options nearby. If possible, I would also recommend requesting a room on a lower floor. Of course, you won’t want to carry luggage on the stairs, but on some days it gives you the option of avoiding the elevator waits.
One feature I really appreciated was the spacious lobby. It has excellent seating, workspaces, and places to grab a snack or coffee. I had several early morning business meetings with Europe, and it was a comfortable and quiet place to work.
Overall, I would definitely stay here again. Next time, though, I would request a lower-floor room, skip the breakfast, and make sure to download the Marriott Bonvoy app in advance, which I believe would make check-in faster and smoother.
The good: The hotel’s location is good. Only a few blocks from Times Square and close to food and subway.
The bad: staff is not helpful at all. The hotel is too big with many rooms and the staff is not able to handle that much traffic. At any given time, the wait to talk to anyone at the front desk is 15-60 min. There were 10-20 people in the line and only 1-3 counters open. They have a weird system for calling elevators. It almost always took 15-20 min to even get an elevator to get to my floor, which was super annoying. The room cleaning staff left fewer towels and/or coffee pods regularly. Their water fountain was broken.
The ugly: they charged an unexpected $40/day “destination fees”. It is not a resort, so not sure whats that for. They told is that you can use $35 as credit daily at restaurants on the property. The catch is that the credit expires at mid might, so doesn’t carryover. Also, the lines at these restaurants were a mile long. So you can either do sight seeing in NYC or redeem your $35!
Overall, bad experience, would not recommend.

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Great location — very convenient, close to everything, and walkable. However, the hotel itself was disappointing. The elevators had long wait times and were often inaccurate. The service, especially at the gift shop, was a terrible experience. The only exception was the gentleman at Starbucks, who was genuinely kind and attentive.
Cleanliness was also below expectations, dust was visible throughout the room. For the price and reputation, I would think twice before booking again.
The hotel deserves a higher review score. I was somewhat nervous based on the reviews, but the place is nice. The location is great, our room with two double beds was larger than I expected, the room was clean and was cleaned each day. I would certainly stay here again. Yes, the lines for check-in are long. Yes, there were waits at the elevators. But there's 50 floors of hotel rooms, what do you expect? The daily fees were already calculated in the Expedia price, so no surprise there. For what we paid compared to the other hotels in NYC, I was very pleased.
