"This was a really nice place. There are 8 cabins with comfortable beds, a heater a short wooden path to some large bathrooms and really nice kitchen/common area. I took advantage of the public pool down the street for my last night in Iceland. You won't want to miss the lighthouse at sunset either. Such a great ending to an amazing vacation! "
"Great clean hotel, there is a restaurant in the hotel and next door. But other than that there isn’t anything in walking distance. Overall would recommend. They also have free shuttles to the airport available."
"The staff was exceptional and very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and the location was close to the airport. It seemed to be a very safe location and was pretty quiet for being close to an airport. It had free parking, which was helpful too."
"This property is all about the location. If you want a remote feeling near the ocean, it's fantastic for that.
There really isn't anyone on the property to ask questions to (at least that we found). The rooms are not sound proof, so hopefully you're neighbor is quiet, but we could hear furniture being moved and footsteps. There is a small fridge in the room and an electric kettle, but no access to a kitchen or microwave. There's heat, but no A/C (which is normal for Iceland, but the windows barely open, so we had to prop open the door to the room each night to get any decent cooling. A floor fan would have been nice to move air. We had a south facing room, so maybe other rooms were cooler.
It's a unique place to stay and we enjoyed it. We went into town for breakfast and coffee each morning. "
"Fist of all- I’m so grateful for this place. Even though I flew in at midnight by myself, it was safe and a very expensive taxi took me straight to the Guesthouse. No one was at the reception desk but there were clear markings to phone someone and they told me exactly what to do and I was in bed within 10 minutes. My room was small but had everything I needed minus a toilet of course. I understood that and I had a great sleep and it was quiet. Breakfast the next morning was interesting. It was like I was showing up at my grandma‘s house and she was still sleeping so I had to fetch for myself which was fine. They had a wide range of food and things so anyone can find something satisfactory and I was most pleased. The bathrooms are very clean And Lukas was particularly kind. He personally helped me find a way to the RKV domestic airport. He was so patient and accommodating. The feel of the place was quite ugly because they also house parked cars for long term parking. This is a great place to crash for a night but the price is way too much for this hostile. If they fixed the rotted out doors from water damage, put up barriers to block the cars or parked them away from the hotel, if they organised the kitchen better and added a hallway rug runner (for noise), and provided free airport shuttle, it would be 5 stars all the way around. . "
"Little scary with no staff and being entirely self service, but they answer email questions quickly. Location is spectacular and you’d pay >$500 a night if this was US. Great restaurant on site and within walking distance. Also great you can check out and leave bags for the afternoon while killing time before going to airport. "
