"The staff are very friendly and helpful. My wife and I enjoyed the pool and also spa treatments. Some parts of the hotel looks a little tired."

"This was an excellent and comfortable option in the heart of Colchester. The room benefited from air con on such a hot weekend and we were in a quiet part of the hotel. Breakfast was cooked to order - my other half would have liked a fresh fruit salad (a basked of fruit was provided, to be fair). Unfortunately the WiFi was patchy throughout the building, not just in our room. If I’d had to do work it would have been impossible. We certainly couldn’t have watched a film online. If this could be sorted I’d say the hotel was worth 5 stars."

"The ground floor room was fine, with easy access to the parking area. The shower room was very clean and modern; the bedding was immaculate on a comfortable bed; it was a shame the carpet hadn't been vacuumed. We would have liked a small fridge and a second opening window as the weather was exceedingly hot, but we appreciated the air conditioning. We couldn't see the point of the massive television, that was too close to watch anyway. The parking area was roomy and secure. There was a Costa and a Starbucks within easy walking distance, along with a supermarket and a row of shops. Although this hotel would be handy for the ferryport, it was too far from Harwich town centre to walk, so we could not visit the pubs and restaurants without driving (although we should have checked this before booking)."

"The staff were all excellent The parking very good Ev chargers made a difference Our room 305 was a top rated room but could be made better with a few little tweaks. Eg Some of the tiles over the bath need re grouting as do a couple of floor tiles. The fire escape windows could not be locked properly which gave us a bit of worry about security while we were not in the room. The outside seating area next to the dining room was overgrown and had lots of weeds. I don’t want to complain and I will certainly book again and recommend the hotel . I’m pointing out these easily fixed things to help you."

"Room was great value for price paid. Main requirement was to sleep and not chill within room for too long. Room was small but very clean with nice shower and hair/body wash to make use of. Window in room was an extra cost. It was covered so you could not see out of it. Overall i would definetely stay again."
