"Staff were very welcoming and friendly and the rooms were immaculate. Breakfast and dinner was delicious, great selection for both although didnt get our drinks until we finished our meal. Downstairs bar was closed which was disappointing as had to keep going upstairs to purchase drinks while we enjoyed the games area. Could have happily spent all day in the pool area so relaxing well looked after, staff so friendly."

"Excellent room and central location in Hexham and convenient for exploring Hadrian’s Wall etc. great breakfast and very helpful staff. Would definitely stay again if we were in the area."

"The bedroom was excellent,clean well furnished and appointed. The only small criticism was that there was a lack of comfortable space away from the restaurant space and bar but as we were only staying one night this didn’t matter too much. The breakfast was excellent and the bar food,whereas it was well prepared, was a little limited in choice. We would however stay again."

"We really enjoyed our stay for two nights at Battlesteads. Two things really stood out - the food was excellent (except chips - a minor thing), and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and welcoming without being overbearing. The last point, about how all staff were nice to interact with, was a major selling point and is why we will return. A special shout out to Dan ("Dan, Dan, the beverage man") for being so helpful and recommending Flyte - a top tip! Ad Gefrin sold two bottles to us as a result! Such a pleasant time, great food, and drink, and an impressive walking guide (which we used) and an observatory on the door step!"

"Don’t bring a cat - there’s no room to swing it in the bedroom. And the TV was comically small. That being said, it was clean and tidy and the food excellent. Staff also very friendly."
