"First of all I have to mention Stephen, he’d only been working at the hotel 2 weeks but it didn’t show. He knew exactly how to fulfil his role as we were shown round. The house and rooms are beautiful and well laid out. Service perfect from start to finish. Breakfast was wonderful as was the spa. We had a very relaxing stay and will be back again when the weather is better to enjoy the garden. Thank you again."

"Great location and great property. Half hour walk into York with easy parking. Room was spacious and clean and with a very nice bathroom. Indoor pool and jacuzzi and sauna were clean and easy to use. Definitely recommend "

"I was concerned after reading some of the reviews but we needn't have been. The communal spaces were lovely, beautifully decorated and elegant. we had an amazing room overlooking the gardens and the city. staff were very helpful. the parking situation is a bit stressful though"
