Reception was self service for check in and check out and saw 2 members of the house keeping staff and the staff in the restaurant, pity because the hotel is in a great location, we love Kilmore Quay but we'll try somewhere else next time, pity it could be a great place!!
Check in needs improving waiting almost 10 minutes trying to get through to reception in the end we phoned the bar to see if they could help, a girl from the bar met us at reception to get us our key
Be very careful booking this accommodation. I went down with 3 adults and 2 small children for 2 nights. We got a 2 bedroomed apartment which is on an upper level of terraced houses. The accommodation itself was good and it had everything you'd need. The problem lies in the residents of the lower level which are let to long term tennants. We had a night of hell with a party going on until about 4am and then fights with abuse being screamed until 7.45am. No reception to call. It was the night of storm Dennis so I did not want to call the Gardai when they had enough to do with fallen trees and electrical power outages. Residents beneath us who were the horrific. Not the kind of people you would approach. Kids frightened and zero sleep for the whole night for everyone before our 2 1/2 hour drive the next morning. I had to wait until 10.45 to see someone to check out and discuss the situation. Although the manager was pleasant all he offered was an apology. Not sufficient having paid for a weekend away and to come back needing a break. I would strongly advise people to think about it before they book as you don't know what long term residents are living beneath you and there will be no one to call for assistance.

Although best room of the hotel, we had a security light shining just above our heads all night long.
