However the resort is becoming a bit tired, we stayed in the same room as last year and the broken drawers from last year hadn’t been fixed (we reported this last year). "The property was a little hidden but once we found it we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was very nice and helpful giving us info about the amenities and local attractions. "Very impressed with these private villas and had a wonderful stay.The location is a short walk away from the local village and beach. The properties are brand new and finished to an extremely high standard. The gardens are finished to a high standard and maintained regularly. The villas are full of high tech including superfast broadband, remote temperature air con, large screen TV, electric curtains and video entry phone. Kitchen appliances are high end and there is a good selection of pots and pans. The pool is great - despite some other holiday makers thinking it is 1985 and placing beach towels on loungers at the start of the day. Staff were really helpful and welcoming. Could do with a welcome book to get the best out of the villa and a USB hub to charge phones and devices. We will be back!"

"Great villa with a beautiful pool and large bedrooms with ample closet space in every room. Lovely outside dinning area with a BBQ and lots of outdoor seating. Was close to town but does require an Uber or car. Hiking trails along the coast within walking distance. Perfect home base to explore the stunning Algrave. Owners live on the property and were very respectful and responsive. Would recommend for a large group."

"We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful place for our honeymoon. The room was spotless, comfortable, and very well equipped. We especially appreciated the thoughtful layout, with a separate room for the shower and sink and another separate room for the toilet. The bathrobes and mini refrigerator were also lovely touches that made our stay even more comfortable. The location was perfect, close to the centre of the village, which was full of life and had a wonderful family atmosphere. Even though the village was lively during the day, it was never noisy at night, allowing us to enjoy peaceful and restful evenings. We also loved the convenience of having stores nearby, with some staying open until midnight. Overall, it was a beautiful and memorable place to stay for our honeymoon. We truly enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming, and well-located place to stay."

"We had a wonderful stay at Casa do Barao. We went as a family of 8 adults and one year old. All four double bedrooms were en-suite and with air conditioning. We don’t use the out house but it has two more bedrooms, a lounge, a kitchen and bathroom.A large kitchen with island unit and sitting area although we mainly sat outside near the pool. We used the bbq once and sat at the table outside to eat.Great location as only a 10 minute walk downhill to the centre of Carvoeiro and a bit of a steep climb back up.The pool was great with a fence around so safe for our granddaughter and an area to sit in shallow water and a slope to the deeper part of the pool. Lots of pool toys for children to play with.The hosts were really helpful and we communicated via What’s app.Thank you for a fantastic stay at your villa."
