I didn't stay at the property, paid for two tourist-friends. When they got there the man told them thatthere reservation on Expedia wasn't good. Didn't offer help or guidance. When I, the payer, tried to see the desk personnel, they wouldn't even answer the door downstairs. Nasty attitude, but it is Hollywood with all of its issues. Shouldn't expect staff at a Hostel there to be much different. I would not recommend except for LAST resort.

The property was centrally located in Hollywood just two buildings away from El Capitan theatre. Full marks for location. My late night check in was facilitated thanks to two slightly angry gentlemen who helped me get in to the narrow stairs that led to the lobby. The manager was kindly and helpful with the check in. I got checked into room where the bunk beds creaked with the slightest movement and I actually feared for the person sleeping in the bed below. The people in the room were not travellers from the look of it. In the middle of the night someone started playing a video of Haunted Hotels in Hollywood on loop. The bathroom lights weren't working, so I used my laptop screen as a source of illumination. I wouldn't have felt comfortable leaving it in the room while I bathed anyways. I left really early in the morning as I was mainly there for work. The manager was gracious again and did apologise for the lights in the bathroom. But overall, I would be hesitant to recommend this place to solo travellers. I just had a general sense of unease. Take this pick solely for the great location!

Nice people, good looking place but there were at least 2 things I didn’t like. The first thing I noticed when I walked onto the bedroom is that it had a dreadful smell. I was then told by a roommate that it was due to humidity as they could hardly open the windows to dry out any wet clothes. Then there’s the bathroom. I was left disgusted by the lavatory full of (most likely from someone who had shaved) and water as it wouldn’t go down no matter how hard I tried. I have to say I was disappointed with that given the price I paid for the stay. I’m not expecting a 5-star rated hostel, but please hygiene is pretty basic. Had I known this before I made the booking, I wouldn’t have done it. Other than that, I don’t have anything else left to say about this hostel.

This was a very poor place to stay and should not be sold on expedia. This was a place where only street people stay and a whole lot of conflicts every night between guest.
