About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

400 feet of private frontage on Lake Gogebic. Sleeps 10, 4 bed/2 bath.

CABIN CREEK on Lake Gogebic in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. You'll love the place! This nostalgic lake home has all the modern conveniences. Remodeled in 2018, Cabin Creek is rented all year long. All new living room furniture and all new beds. We've kept some antiques on the porch for that old-fashioned summer cottage feel. Well-appointed and geared for a great time with a fully stocked kitchen, refrigerator w/ice maker, microwave, lots of extra small appliances and all linens and towels provided. Enjoy the ROKU TV, large boat dock, comfortable living room furniture and a gas fireplace.

Perfect for larger groups, Cabin Creek sleeps up to 10 people. The Master bedroom, with a brand new comfortable King bed is located on the main floor right next to a full bath. Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and a small full bath. Bedroom 1 and 2 have two twins. The twins can be pushed together to create a king bed. Bedroom 3 is perfect for families with a queen bed and two twin beds. The cabin is air-conditioned. We provide fans for rooms upstairs.

Great views of Lake Gogebic which is the largest lake in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, also known for less noise and not much boat traffic. Guests love it in Summer and Winter, ideal for fishing walleye and jumbo perch. You'll love exploring the 420 feet of lake frontage. On the north side is our private boat house and just beyond that is a large sand bar with a drop off. Our beach starts out a bit rocky but is shallow and sandy near the shore. The south side is bordered by a lovely creek that runs heavily during the spring and fall. Kids love hiking across the little bridge and exploring, stay south of the pink ribbons that indicate our property line, please respect our neighbors and their property. If you need some fishing tips, just ask us. Snowmobile trail #1 just down the street. Plenty of parking for extra vehicles or large snowmobile/boat trailers. Perfect location with a bar/restaurant nearby. Large front yard overlooking a large expanse of water, truly a vacationers paradise.

Wonderful!
We decided to come to the UP while our home was being remodeled. This cottage on the lake is wonderful. It is very clean and cozy! The property is amazing. Beautiful sunrises and quiet nights. We felt very secluded and rarely saw other people on the lake. Holly and her husband are wonderful hosts and checked in on us upon arrival to make sure we were all set! We will definitely be back!

We had a very nice Ms relaxing week in the U.P. Lake Gogebic was amazingly quiet most of the time. Saw lots of bald eagles and loons. Would go back happily.

An amazing place with room for everyone. Great communication from the hosts who quickly handled a minor issue. Plan to stay again for any future trips to the area.

Private and Quiet
We needed privacy and quiet - a retreat away from hectic work schedules and grad school challenges. The house has a nice lengthy driveway away from the road, and there is no traffic on the road. Forest on both sides, no neighbors within visible or listening distance. Nearly wakeless lake, just small fishing boats with respectful locals not blaring bad music. The house is nice, well kept, very comfortable and dreamlike. The water has an unappetizing smell, nothing terrible and definitely safe, but it gave our water bottles a less refreshing pour after a day or two. Totally fine to cook with. The house also has a bit of an aged smell, but we were able to open windows and get a breeze flowing to alleviate that given absolutely perfect late summer weather. Holly kept in touch regularly but gave us our space - much appreciated! We knew she was available if we needed anything. We would absolutely book here again. It's within driving distance to several small hikes and rapids or waterfalls, but we mostly wanted to stay in, cook, and sleep and the house was ideal for us.

Go to Gogebic
Just left yesterday and miss it already! The entire place was incredible. The house was bigger than I thought, especially the kitchen. Everything was well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The outside was anazing. The grass was soft and mossy. It felt great on your feet. Of course rhe lake was beautiful. We would definitely stay at Cabin Creek again!

It Could Have Been Perfect
First of all, the lake was great, so quiet and pretty. The house was clean but with an overwhelming smell of moth balls. The yard, while spacious and private, has huge holes all throughout (don't break an ankle). The back "porch" is scary would be nice to have a deck instead of a set of stairs with no landing. Then off those back stairs they have a flower bed with rocks... On the piece of wood they have holding the rocks in, there's a nail sticking up where my dog sliced it's paw open on (which made for a stressful time). Then to the absolute WORSE part... The MOSQUITOS! As soon as the sun goes down or it gets cloudy you better run inside. I have never had so many mosquito bites in my life. To the point where we were all miserable from them. This was very unfortunate for us because we love sitting outside and having fires and looking at the stars. Like I said this place could have been perfect but unfortunately it did fall short for us. All we wanted was to have some fires and look at the stars without all the worry about an injured paw, mosquitos, trying to mark holes in the yard so people didn't break an ankle... Seems like we spent a lot of money to have this many inconveniences. The couch was tore up and well broken in lol The people who take care of the property showed up frequently as they use the garage, which gave you the feel that you were being checked up on. Like I said it could have been perfect... But..

Great Home Base Cabin for Snowmobiling
This house was perfect for our annual "guys snowmobiling trip" to the UP. Spacious house was well furnished and super comfortable. Had everything we needed. Great central location to all of the Gogebic area trails. Can hop right on the lake and get to all of the places you want to go. Highly recommended!

Great lake front property
Very nice updated property on a private lot on lake Gogebic. This house was in very nice condition and well supplied. We found the kitchen to be well equipped and everything in the house was nicely updated. This is an older property and there were a few minor things on the outside that could stand some improvement but overall this is a nice spot close to the lodge and an interesting store.
