"Excellent B&B in a great setting with super friendly and professional staff. The room was very well looked after, it was in pristine condition and had all of the amenities we needed. Convenient parking right outside, and the best breakfast I've ever had at a B&B - A selection of cereals, fruit and yogurt, freshly baked pastry, juices, tea and coffee and a delicious cooked option. Amazing value, highly impressed and we will definitely return if we're in the area again!"

"We had an accessible room with twin beds and a wet room shower. It was lovely and clean. I am never sure why the accessibility bathrooms are never quite right in their design. Whilst there was a shaver socket, there was no shelf near the sink to put things on. The area that had space had the towels place there but there was not enough protection from the shower curtain to stop water getting to that area until I altered the way the shower curtain was hung to keep the towels dry and our wash bags but that then left the floor by the sink getting splashed ! The actual sink was very small and set at a height for wheelchair use but you’d have trouble getting a wheelchair in there. The bathroom needed to meet the needs of my partner which the shower seat provided did but it was difficult for me, his carer, to wash at such a small low sink ! Mirror did not have condensation clearing finish which was disappointing! It was fine for a one night stop over but not for a longer stay. We enjoyed the menu choice in the evening and the food was tasty and served well. Breakfast was the same, very helpful staff and a good selection. "

"The room was lovely with a two seater sofa, spotlessly clean. Nice tea and coffee facilities. The breakfast was outstanding. Lots of choice really nice quality food and very nicely cooked. The evening meal that we had there was also very good. Nice play area for children. I would add the pub had air conditioning, fantastic in the hot weather enjoying a nice glass of wine. Lots of space in the pub, good layout with different rooms and in my opinion a big bonus plenty of parking. Highly recommended, no shortcomings."

"Clean, newly decorated room. The whole hotel had been refurbished, opening in May 2026. So all was very good. Went to the bar and had a few tapas to share and drinks. Only downsides to the stay was that there was no buffet selection for breakfast so you had to choose only 1 item per person off the menu. Anything extra was not included in the rate ....so they billed you for it. Otherwise a pleasant stay."

"Lovely stone cottage with bags of character. Stairs might be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. Best to speak to Roy first if unsure. Easy parking outside the gates. We didn't attempt parking off road but had no issues parking on the road. Essential shops within a couple of minutes walk and a pub about 10 mins. Great area for exploring. We will be back for another visit."

"We celebrated a big birthday at Juglans barn last weekend with family. The place was gorgeous, very clean and spacious and just perfect for what we wanted. We especially loved the hot tub. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. All in all I would definitely recommend this property for a celebration and would consider it again in the future."

"We had a lovely week away. The cottage was well situated for things we wanted to do. Paul across the road we met as we were leaving was very friendly and checked that everything with our stay was ok. He doesnâ€™t have a car so parking on his drive worked really well (I was worry we would have to keep moving the car/get trapped in.) and we were able to get to our car whenever we needed it. Tescos is a 5 min walk and town is very close. There is a nice play park just across the road and Alfreton park is longer walk through town. It was an easy drive to get to all the things we wanted to visit. Castleton and Stoke is around an hour, Matlock and Derby is around 30 mins. The small garden was lovely to sit out on in an evening. The house was small but suited our needs, there was relatively basic supplies/equipment in the kitchen, but we managed to make do with what was there fairly easily. The whole place could do with a bit of a deep clean, but the bedding was nice and clean. The single beds were less comfortable, but the girls said they slept ok. We had a fabulous time away."
