"We had a lovely two night stay at The Family Tree. Our room was clean, cosy and comfortable with a great ensuite. The delicious breakfast was a real highlight and the staff were very friendly. We would definitely recommend this place to other travellers."

"Lovely place would definitely stay again! Friendly staff and great location. My less than tip makes on cleaning was only cause I do a little tv dust test ( there was dust on top of tv) but other wise lovely"

"One of the nicest places we’ve stopped in a long time… Spotless from top to bottom and a great feeling throughout the property and room itself. Staff were so helpful and appreciated the warm welcome and check in. Breakfast was delicious and loved the crockery and glassware too. Definitely going to come back soon !!!!!!"
Beautiful 2 bedroomed stone cottage in the centre of Crich

"Lovely stone cottage with bags of character. Stairs might be a challenge for someone with mobility issues. Best to speak to Roy first if unsure. Easy parking outside the gates. We didn't attempt parking off road but had no issues parking on the road. Essential shops within a couple of minutes walk and a pub about 10 mins. Great area for exploring. We will be back for another visit."
Florence Nightingale Suites at Lea Hurst

"A very special place to stay as this was the family home of Florence Nightingale. We stayed in two bedrooms which were the rooms that she grew up in before she went to Crimea. This is not a hotel. It’s more of a guest house with a few of the rooms rented out on a nightly basis. The property is accessed through several gates so it’s on very private land. The views are amazing of the local countryside and there’s a very beautiful garden around the house and sheep in the fields a little further away. The host at the House house may change in the future but we had a lovely lady from Ukraine called Svitlana who made us most welcome staying at the house. She made us a wonderful breakfast in the morning to order and did everything we asked to help and made our stay very pleasant. Beware there are no TV in the bedroom but there was a TV in the lounge downstairs. Some of the downstairs rooms could be used for an intimate breakfast with great views into the countryside. The Location was perfect for visiting Matlock and Matlock Barth with the attractions of Abraham Heights,fish and chip shops along the river Derwent, etc and it was a 30 minute drive to Chatsworth and Bakewell and Haddon Hall. Overall I would highly recommend a few nights at this location especially given the hospitality from Svitlana and the historic nature of the house"

"We had a lovely week away. The cottage was well situated for things we wanted to do. Paul across the road we met as we were leaving was very friendly and checked that everything with our stay was ok. He doesn’t have a car so parking on his drive worked really well (I was worry we would have to keep moving the car/get trapped in.) and we were able to get to our car whenever we needed it. Tescos is a 5 min walk and town is very close. There is a nice play park just across the road and Alfreton park is longer walk through town. It was an easy drive to get to all the things we wanted to visit. Castleton and Stoke is around an hour, Matlock and Derby is around 30 mins. The small garden was lovely to sit out on in an evening. The house was small but suited our needs, there was relatively basic supplies/equipment in the kitchen, but we managed to make do with what was there fairly easily. The whole place could do with a bit of a deep clean, but the bedding was nice and clean. The single beds were less comfortable, but the girls said they slept ok. We had a fabulous time away."

"A warm welcome with milk in the fridge and biscuits on arrival which was well recieved. The cottage was very cosy. Parking outside property on the road was not ideal as the road was quite busy. Road was quite noisy at the start and end of the day but overall it was great. A couple of clocks would have been usefull in the kitchen and lounge and a sweeping brush would have been usefull too."
