Attractive apartment *** in the French alps, in farmhouse from 1751 by the river

The Giffre apartment, which sleeps 6, is named after the river you can see from the living room. The house is located on the edge of the woods, surrounded by mountains with various hiking and mountain biking trails (including some right by the house). Avid winter sports enthusiasts will find three ski resorts within a 20-minute drive: Port du Soleil, Grand Massif, and Praz de Lys-Sommand, offering a total of over 1,000 km of slopes.

The apartment is part of Résidence Caro, which offers a total of three holiday rentals.
We offer cosy and fully equipped holiday rentals at a reasonable price. The apartments are very spacious. For example, the Giffre apartment measures 105 m². We aim to be as self-sufficient as possible and are constantly working to achieve this goal. Currently, we have our own water source that provides us with drinking water, and solar panels are in place to supply electricity. We’re planning to install an electric vehicle charging station in the future. We’ve also planted fruit trees and bushes and have started growing vegetables. The herb gardens are almost finished, and once they’re full, our guests will be able to make full use of them.

The apartment features a large living room with a dining area, an open kitchen, one bathroom with a tub, a rain shower, and a double sink, one bathroom with a rain shower and a toilet, and a separate toilet. There are 3 bedrooms: one with a double bed, one with two single beds, and one with a bunk bed.
The apartment features underfloor heating and has direct access to the terrace and the large garden, which also houses the mazot (Savoyard barn); the terrace is in the sun all day, when it’s shining ;).
As mentioned, the kitchen is fully equipped with, among other things, an espresso machine, dishwasher, large refrigerator, separate freezer, microwave, oven, 4-burner induction stove, bar, and glasses for water, beer, wine, champagne, shots, and tea, etc.
Of course, bed linens and towels are provided.

In the immediate vicinity, you’ll find the Pont du Diable, which features a beautiful gorge you can walk to.
The cities of Geneva, Annecy, and Chamonix are definitely worth visiting and are all within a 45-minute drive.
