Family Fun, Large Deck, King Bed, Firepit, Serene, Lake Close by, Activities
Family fun & relaxation come to mind when you pull into the gated entrance of this stunning home nestled back off the road surrounded by beautiful cedar trees. The views off the huge back deck are truly breathtaking. The sunrise over the Lake Whitney Bridge is something you will truly enjoy as you drink your morning coffee, and what gives this home the name "Bridgeview Lodge". This home can easily sleep 8 adults, the wall of windows in the living area and main bedroom allow you to enjoy the scenery full of local wildlife. The spacious kitchen, aspen wood finishes, separate barn with ping pong table, firepit surrounded by 4 swings, and many outdoor activities for our guests is just a short list of reasons why this will become your favorite vacation spot! The property is roughly 3 1/4 acres, allowing you to spread out and enjoy yourself.
The kitchen is fully stocked with a high quality cooking pots & pans, a blender, Keurig & a coffee pot, toaster, full size oven, crock pot, cookie sheets, rice cooker, flat electric griddle, BBQ Grill, BBQ Smoker, skewers for smores, kitchen towels, wine bottle opener, and Ice Tea pitcher. We provide ground coffee (kept in freezer), powdered creamer, salt, pepper. (Please bring your favorite K-cup for the Keurig.) We have beautiful butcher block counter tops. Keep in mind that wood and water play well together, but not for long periods of time. For any water that gets on the counters we keep kitchen towels in the drawer to use to keep things clean and dry.
The 2 full baths each have hair dryers and the softest towels which are in different colors so everyone knows which towel is theirs to help avoid confusion! We even have a few extra toothbrushes in case you've forgotten yours (or your kids didn't pack theirs.)
The home has plenty of room to move around without feeling crowded. The main bedroom has a King bed, while the second bedroom & upstairs loft both have Queen beds that all have soft cotton sheets with great pillows and comfy quilts. There are mirrors in both bedrooms so people can get ready while someone else is in the bathroom. Downstairs bedrooms also have dressers to place clothes inside if you are staying for a bit and do not want to live out of a suitcase for your trip. A full-sized closet is available in the front bedroom to hang clothes in. The closet in the back bedroom is used as an owner's closet.
The washing/dryer machine is a hard-working stack-able that is underneath the stairs. Nothing better than returning home with clean swimsuits and kid’s clothes from the lake! (Laundry soap is provided!)
Boat owners, bring the boat with you as there is plenty of room to park and maneuver your boat and trailer on this property. Lake access is a quick 5-minute drive that offers a secluded cove, boat ramp, and dock to launch your boat/canoe/jet ski. Swimming in the cove is also easy and enjoyable as there is a small beach area where the surrounding cliffs keep the waters calm and serene.
Lake Whitney is listed as one of the TOP fishing lakes in Texas. Predominant fish species on the lake include striped, white, smallmouth, and largemouth bass, crappie, and channel, blue and flathead catfish. The lake offers scenic views of gently sloping banks, clear and hardwood timber as well as awe-inspiring views of the limestone bluffs.
Nature enthusiasts will enjoy the spectacular wildlife that frequents the property. Deer can be seen most mornings as well as a family of foxes, and many species of birds. The property backs up to a wooded area with no fence, so the deer come and go in the backyard like it is their playground.
We are located near Corp of Engineer land and Hiking Trails with astounding views of Lake Whitney. The hiking trail is at the end of the street. We usually drive down to the end (you could easily walk it too), and then take the trail to a beautiful quiet cove with some of the best views of the lake. The shoreline along the trail is a great place for fossil hunting. You can see many ammonite fossils embedded in the rock there. We have found some great walking sticks that we leave on the front porch for anyone to use. If you find any good ones on your walks feel free to add to the collection.

We have stayed here before during our family gatherings at Cedar Shores. We enjoy this house and its perfect for what we need. Checj in is very easy. Kitchen is great, especially the toaster! Beds are comfortable and the views are great to wake up to. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks!
Such an amazing trip! The property was absolutely beautiful! Plenty of room for guest and our boat. The house was full of all the necessities we needed for our stay! The game barn was fun loaded with every game needed to keep grandson busy! A perfect weekend for a break from the hustle and bustle. The host was very attentive to my messages. Very kind people! Will definitely stay here again.
The property is beautiful, so much better than staying in a hotel. Waking up in the morning and seeing all the deer in the back yard while enjoying a cup of coffee is relaxing.
This property was absolutely perfect for our family/friends weekend getaway trip! Our little ones loved all the space to run around and play freely and the neighborhood cove was so much fun as well! We will definitely be rebooking for another trip asap!
We had an enjoyable family weekend here. The cabin was very clean and well kept. They also provided so many nice amenities that are so helpful. The location was perfect, so peaceful. Loved seeing the deer pass through the property and also enjoyed fishing at the private cove. We would totally recommend Bridgeview Lodge.
The house is lovely!! Cozy, well appointed. The property is beautiful and the views are fantastic. Amenities galore!!! The swings were a big hit as well as the fire pit. Had a fantastic stay!!!
This is my second visit in 2 months ;) I love this VRBO! It’s so peaceful and quiet, plenty of wildlife to see and the view is amazing. Wildflowers blooming everywhere was a nice bonus this trip. Thanks again, Steve and Melissa!
The property was perfect. Our gathering was at my home and this was for family members to find a bit of peace in order to rejoin the group rested and restored.
Steve & Melinda Henderson covered every possible base to make it a wonderful experience.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Especially the peace and solitude on the back porch drinking coffee. The grandkids all had fun, especially with the simplest thing, tic tac toe blocks. Close lake access was great also. I couldn't have asked for a better time and place. 👍
This property is amazing. Property is as advertised. Deer every night we were there and even this morning after all of the rain. Property had everything needed for a weekend getaway. We would definitely use this property again when doing a Lake Whitney excursion.
We loved staying at Bridgeview Lodge! The private cove to launch our pontoon boat was awesome. The house was exactly as described and had extra household products like toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc. The back porch was our favorite place to hangout in the evenings. The firepit with the swings was a huge plus, very cool to sit around and catch up while stargazing. Thanks Steve and Melissa for sharing your wonderful lake house with us!
My husband and i were happy but the teens wished for more to do.
The beds were comfy and everyone slept great.
The boat rentals listed in the book were cosed but a lady at a neighboring restaurant gave us a number to an open one.
We loved sitting in the backyard every morning.
The swimming cove was close and easy to find.
My sister and her family and I absolutely loved our stay. The home is well equipped, sits on 3 beautiful acres with some of the most stunning sunrises and sunsets. We were even witness to an amazing double rainbow while sitting on the huge deck. We had deer who visited every morning and evening along with beautiful birds and bunnies. Access to the private lake cove with fishing topped off the trip! When in the area, we will definitely stay there again. The hosts were most helpful. It was worth every penny!
Property as described. Clean and spacious. Only issue was that the lake was low and the boat ramp was unusable for us but that is not to blame on the property. Ended up using the ramp 12 mins away at Cedron Park. Deer every morning and evening. Very quiet place to relax.
Some members of my family and I stayed 2 nights at this house. The house location was beautiful. Grocery stores and restaurants were a short drive away. We saw deer every morning and evening. The yard was big and well maintained. My 5 and 7 year old granddaughters loved the tire swing. We didn't have to worry about their squeals and shouting bothering the neighbors. There was plenty of comfortable seating on the huge deck in the back yard. The kitchen had everything needed and was very well stocked. We had 3 vehicles and there was plenty of parking. If staying in the area we will definitely want to stay here again.
Stayed at the Bridgeview Lodge for the 4/8/24 total eclipse. Could not have asked for a better experience. The house itself was perfect for two families with teen and college-age kids, with plenty of room to spread out and was very comfortable. The adults had private, nicely appointed queen bed rooms, while the kids had a huge loft with multiple beds and gave them a space of their own as well. The barn full of outdoor toys kept everybody entertained, and the huge back deck was perfect for enjoying the view of the eclipse (which was spectacular). Kitchen was well-stocked and convenient for putting together family sized meals at the huge dining room table. Our host Melissa went above and beyond for us, answering all of our questions quickly, both before, during, and after our stay. She even checked with the local sheriff to see if a burn ban that was is in effect would prevent us from using the firepit (it didn't). Just a very memorable experience in a great place. Highly recommend!
