"The property was clean, and well maintained. The staff were firendly and helpful. The amenities left a little to be desired. The entertainment (TV) system was from 2008, and some features (Googlecast specifically) failed to work. Though I understand that's not why people come to the Theater District, it's still suboptimal. Finally, I fully recognize space is at a premium, but the gap between the sink and shower door was VERY small (as was the bathroom). This was highly inconvenient. "

"It’s fine. It’s the cheapest room I could find in the city and it was fine. I’d like that it had two beds. Which was difficult to find at this price range."

"We always stay at the New Yorker when we are in New York, whether for business or for pleasure. The hotel is convenient for us for our business and for attending theatre and restaurants in the theatre district. The price is good for the value. The least expensive rooms are rather small; but some of their rooms are large with a refrigerator. The building is older but renovated. So it has the advantage of larger windows and high ceilings. Ask for corner rooms to get more windows. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And there are many restaurants and stores in easy walking distance."

"Would have given 5 stars but for the A/C in the room. The temperature was too hot. I’d hate to stay there in the summer months. If they fixed that to be colder this hotel would be perfect. Didn’t have any of the problems listed in some of the reviews but agree the a/c unit needs some serious work. The size of the rooms is what you should expect in NYC and the breakfast bar was a standard hot breakfast and glad they informed about the best time to go to breakfast. Go early for less crowds-again expect crowds and not a lot of space because it’s NYC !! Take it all in, you’re in New York City ! "

"Room was not the cleanest. Bathroom was dirty with hair. The picture on the wall wasn’t wiped down and there was splashes of substance on it.There was trash behind the ottoman in the bedroom. The bedsheets on one of the beds had some type of substance on it and some other dirty marks. "

"My wife and I had booked a Queen-size bed but were given an uncomfortable Full-size one instead, in a very cramped space. Neither of us slept very well, but we were given another room with a Queen mattress for our second night’s stay."

"So you save a dollar a day by making the soap , shampoo, and conditioner squirt tiny drops at a time but by the time a guest has stood there for several minutes pumping and pumping just to get enough to wash their hair, you've more than lost it in guest perception of the hotel. Not to mention the likely cost of the water, just standing there pumping. It feels very much like the sort of thing where you pinched a penny but helped your guest in the eye, leaving them with a very sour perception of the hotel."
