Genuine experience with friendly staff

My stay in this ryokan was a wonderful experience. In addition to being conveniently located near Nagasaki main station, I could enjoy an early check-in, which I appreciated a lot after a very long flight. The Japanese room in which I stayed was really beautiful, and pleasant to stay in. In the evening, I also liked to take a bath. Last but not least, the staff is very kind, and talkative I think provided you can speak a bit of Japanese (which I could not unfortunately). I can highly recommend this ryokan.

Expected it to be a very budget style ryokan but it exceeded my expectations significantly. Rooms were beautifully designed, plus incredibly spacious and clean for the price, while all amenities were provided for at no extra charge. The owner is also super nice, though do take note that you will have to lug your heavy bags on a rather narrow staircase. Haha. Location is also a little bit of a walk from the station but totally manageable. Would definitely stay here again. Amazing value for money.

A splendid stay!

Mr. Isamu Fujiwara, the proprietor of this delightful traditional Japanese-style lodging ('Ryokan'), was most helpful and hospitable. The location is only a 10 minute walk from the train station and dining areas -- a perfect location from which to tour the sights of Nagasaki. For us, these sights included both secular sites, such as the Atomic Bomb Museum and religious sites, such as the 26 Martyrs Monument and Museum, Oura and Urakami Cathedrals, and a day trip down Shimabara Peninsula. Accommodations were delightful. Washer/dryer provided. Highly recommended.

Great Experience.

We stayed for three nights which was a little long for us. It certainly was not a reflection of the Ryokan but, us not sleeping on the floor. It was a great experience but our backs hurt. The host was very helpful and very nice.

Mr Fujiwara is a very polite and friendly inn owner. We had a very enjoyable time, even though the inn is slightly off the tram stop. Itโ€™s not a problem if youโ€™re able-bodied.

Great location but fishy smell

Great location and has ground-level parking. However, upon entering the reception area, there is a smell of cooked food. And when entering our room ("Take"), there was a smell of fish. You get used to it eventually and don't notice it but for those who are sensitive to the smell, it is quite strong. The room has air conditioning which is under your control (via remote) so that's also a good thing.
