"A great hotel with an outstanding staff team. Every member of staff we came across was professional, friendly and very helpful - from the extremely welcoming reception team, through the breakfast and bar staff, to a lovely groundsman who provided fascinating insight into the history of the hotel.
We stayed in a Junior Suite which was extremely spacious and well equipped; the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was spectacular. As an older building, there wasn’t any air conditioning (a fan was provided) and the floorboards were creaky, but that was to be expected and didn’t detract from the beautiful environment and atmosphere. The hotel had a huge lake and a lovely garden area, with outside seating to enjoy the peaceful setting. This was our first visit but definitely a place we will return to."
