Castles in Northern Ireland

It is rare to find an establishment with so many excellent and accurate five star reviews.I can testify that they are all correct. Blackwell house recently won an award as the best Guest house in Northern Ireland, and it is well deserved. I had the pleasure to spend one night in "Lily's room", but would have happily stayed the weekend. The service is five star from the welcome at the door to the excellent "Ulster fry" for breakfast the following morning, which is only one of the many tasty...

I had the warmest welcome from Catherine, with some tea and homemade scone😍 The location is beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast was incredible, vast choice and so much food served, which was much needed to take on the Cuilcagh Boardwalk!

This is such a central and convenient place for Belfast. Staff are gold standard and facilities are perfectly maintained and so clean. A home from home that is so comfortable and welcoming.

Excellent food, comfort and friendly staff make this an excellent place to stay. Would highly recommend and would detour to stay here again.

Outstanding .. 10/10, the staff were so professional and friendly, cleanliness 10/10, the whole approach to Covid was dealt with in an exceptional manner. Lovely hotel in a regenerated area of the city. Good facilities. Only things that need improvement are staff customer service- waiters and waitresses are either young and clearly doing summer jobs or older staff where English is not their first language and I found either things asked for did not show up or staff didn’t understand. Also an electric charger for EV/ hybrid vehicles would be welcome.

Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was ready early which was amazing! Clean room. Great kitchenette. Bed was comfortable. Shower was great. No complaints.

We had a wonderful stay in Shipquay hotel, we were welcomed with a glass of Prosecco - a nice touch, it was notable how fantastic the staff were throughout the visit, so friendly and helpful

Excellent staff, so helpful and friendly, from the check-in staff and the porter to the bar and restaurant. It was perfect. The rooms are so well equipped and clean, complements to the housekeeping staff. Thank you

Amazing food and friendly staff

The hotel is centrally located in the city of Derry with large clean modern rooms. The bar is essentially the pub next door, which is quite busy. There aren't any real hotel amenities eg lobby or gym, so i did find it tricky without room servi e late at night. Nonetheless in normal hours it is great and comfortable place to stay.

The Marcus Portrush is a beautiful property and my stay could not have been better. The room was comfortable, clean, quiet and well appointed, albeit a little short on floor space. The bed was large and comfortable with great pillows and quality bedding. The staff and food were excellent. I would definitely choose the Marcus again.
