Experience the beauty of Deep Creek Lake year-round at this secluded Gambrel-style cabin, tucked away in the peaceful woods of Oakland. Whether you're a hiker, skier, or water sports enthusiast, you'll love coming back to unwind in the brand-new hot tub (installed June 2023), relax on the wraparound deck, or gather around the firepit to roast s'mores at the forest’s edge.

This charming two-story cabin is nestled on nearly an acre of land within the Youghiogheny Mountain Resort community, bordered by a spring-fed creek. The area offers endless hiking opportunities, with Swallow Falls State Park just under five miles away. You'll also be perfectly positioned to explore nearby Harrington Manor State Park (five miles), Deep Creek Lake State Park (12 miles), and Wisp Resort (12 miles).

In the warmer months, start and end your days enjoying the cabin’s inviting outdoor spaces. Challenge friends to a game of cornhole or horseshoes, relax in the hammock for an afternoon nap, and fire up the gas grill for delicious barbecue dinners on the deck. During the winter, cozy up indoors for foosball and Nintendo Classic tournaments while snow gently falls outside.

Inside, the cabin features a range of recent updates, including an open, updated kitchen with an island and bar seating. Enjoy meals together in the dining area, and gather in the second living room for relaxed evenings after dinner. Both bedrooms are located upstairs, with one featuring its own smart TV, DVD player, and desk for remote work or study. Central air-conditioning, a private washer/dryer, and complimentary WiFi ensure your stay is comfortable and convenient.

Perfect weekend getaway!

We had a wonderful long weekend, the location is perfect and the owners seem to work hard at making the cottage feel like home. The fire pit was awesome, too!

Quiet retreat in woods

We loved the area. Many great parks to bike, kayak and hike in. Away from crowds at deep creek lake but close enough to enjoy restaurants and lake.

Summer Getaway for hiking and the lake

The cabin offers a perfect getaway for a couple or a couple of families! We enjoyed the spacious deck for grilling and eating meals outside. The hot tub was beautifully maintained and great way to end each evening. There is plenty of seating areas both inside and outside and the fire pit area it lit so beautifully with strung bulb lights. The cabin was well stocked with towels and basic essentials. If you are looking for a great place to enjoy family, friends or even a personal retreat, this is the place!! We spent time at deep creek lake during the day, Swallow Falls for hiking and Wisp Adventure Sports. All about 20 minutes away! We look forward coming back to this cabin.

Lovely pet friendly cabin!

We loved the hot tub and they provided plenty of towels! We had a very comfortable stay, if you want to do baking bring what you need, but they had plenty of dishes and glasses and such. Very secluded and surrounded by trees!

Nice place to stay but…

We loved the cabin.. very nice and quiet. Lots to do in the area and we loved the state parks. I don’t think I would book with Vacasa again though. Our check out time was 10am. They had the hot tub maintenance guy come at 9am. And the cleaners were sitting at the end of the driveway from 9:15 waiting on us to leave. Very unprofessional in my opinion and kinda pushy. We left at 9:35 and they pulled in right after we pulled out of the driveway.

Property Management Company

Unfortunately, we were not able to stay on the property due to an emergency. We were hospitalized and had paperwork to prove it. I tried to contact Vacasa and they denied me every time. The only time they reached out was after the owner contacted them saying he was worried he saw no one check into the property. The General Manager of Vacasa left me a voicemail expressing the concern of the owner and said he wanted to work with me on getting some money back, which I was grateful for at the time. I tried 6 times to reach Rich (General Manager) after that voicemail. I finally caught him on a call and he promised me a refund of the fees and a discount for rebooking the cabin again. I never received a refund or further communication.

Memorial Day weekend

The property overall was clean and accurate to the listing. However the hot tub and outdoor deck area was very lacking. I would not book this property if you are specifically looking for a hot tub. When we arrived the hot tub was 67 degrees and did not get up to temperature or maintain a reasonable temp to use.

Cleanliness was less than subpar

I booked this cabin with my family and was very disappointed with the cleanliness. When we got there, the beds were dirty and covered in hair. Before we were able to sleep, we had to wash all the sheets in the small, ill equipped washer and dryer. It took hours before we were able to go to bed after driving for 4 hours. Thankfully I brought detergent. We also had to clean the bathrooms before being able to use them. We ended up leaving a day early because truthfully, we didn’t want to have to continue to do laundry on our vacation. The cabin itself was beautiful but having to clean really ruined the experience.

Woodsy way cabin stay

over all, we enjoyed our stay. The cabin was cozy. there were a couple issues that we experienced during our stay and we arrived. Living room TV was out of resolution and we couldn’t watch anything, we tried to fix it but somehow we were unable to. also it’s best for the key to be placed by the gate instead of the office almost half an hour away, I found this a bit inconvenient.

Cozy cabin weekend

I booked this cabin for a bachelorette weekend. It’s perfect if you like to be tucked away in the woods with lots of privacy. It takes about 20 minutes to get to restaurants and shops. All the amenities we needed were there. We got to see lots of chipmunks and deer!

Loved it!!

I went for my bachelorette weekend with 6 of my best friends and we absolutely loved it. The place was beautiful and had so much to offer. We enjoyed the hot tub and spending time around the camp fire. Definitely a great place to stay and would recommend to family and friends!!

Great place for some forest therapy

Woodsy Way is a lovely retreat situated in a gated community called the Youghiogheny Mountain Resort, about a half-hour drive away from Deep Creek Lake. It had everything we needed on site, including a nice hot tub on the deck, as well as a fire pit and plenty of outdoor seating. The cabin does not have AC but the shady setting was still comfortable using the many box fans provided. Occasionally, people rode by on all-terrain vehicles but the atmosphere was mostly quiet and filled with birdsong. The only hiccup is that the downstairs Roku was dysfunctional. The upstairs unit worked, however. All in all, we spent a relaxing weekend celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.

Secluded paradise

A secluded cabin that is dog friendly and with a hot tub. Just what we needed. Convenient to Swallow falls but about a 20minute drive to Deep Creek Lake. Check in process a little confusing because the key fab is in a lockbox at the Vacasa Office (about 20 mins away from the cabin).

Rustic retreat with creature comforts
