A lovely apartment in a beautiful neighborhood
This was a lovely stay in a beautiful neighborhood of Alameda. The apartment was easy to access, clean and cozy. It felt like a mini vacation getaway even though I was there for work. And Marti was a lovely host.

Delightful Stay in Alameda
This was a delightful place to stay in Alameda. It is comfortable, charming and fully equipped. It is within walking distance of parks and shops, and it's an easy drive from Oakland. The host is attentive and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Alameda Garden Jewel

Alameda a great Island city.
The property was super cute, decorated in antique/vintage/asian decor. Bright and sunny during day. Quiet neighborhood. Beware of lower ceilings. TV operation a little funky to begin with but seemed to clear up. Would have been nice to know where washer/dryer were located since they are not in unit and couldn’t get a hold of host. Ended up at laundromat. Other than that, a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Charming, cozy Victorian basement apartment - my only suggestion is additional shower storage - I have a lot of shower gear, so we had to McGyver it! Loved the convenient parking - not sure how you manage it, Marti, but there was always a space right out front - this is critical in this area.

Convenient location, responsive host
We needed a place to stay close to our friends. The location was perfect in a quiet neighborhood with on-street parking not a problem. The place is full of antiques. The bed was comfortable. The shower a little small, but excellent water pressure. There's a full kitchen with probably all the cooking items you would need. We would stay there again.

Great location. Beautiful apartment with no stairs.
Comfortable bed, comfortable living area, full kitchen with all the necessaries, very nice, new-looking step-in shower, beautiful garden to enjoy reading, and great neighborhood. Everything you could want is within a mile, yet it is a short drive to Oakland and San Francisco. Perfect place to stay to be close to our Alameda family. Thank you, Marti. Loved it.
We have really enjoyed everything about our stay (except that the shower is small). The unit is very comfortable, fully stocked -more than any other place we’ve stayed, Marti is lovely and very accessible. There’s a sweet garden at the back of this beautiful Victorian home. And the neighborhood is safe and so nice to walk around in. We love Alameda! When we come north, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. I could keep going…

Pretty little apartment
The location was great for traveling to different sights. The street/neighborhood was quite pretty. The apartment is furnished with antiques so it is not child friendly but it’s well outfitted for two adults. The bed was comfortable.

Perfect place for us to stay; wheelchair accessible, able to walk to the beach, quiet neighborhood. Marti is great! Good communication prior and during our stay. Just as the listing says, this private ground floor apartment is located near restaurants and coffee shops on the island. The neighborhood is safe and lovely to walk around. The apartment is clean and has everything you need. The best part is the back garden to sit in.

Great location, Apartment is small for more than 1 person. The owner lives upstairs and is very available to her guests. Parking on the street was always available. Interesting art and furniture. The bed is very comfortable. I would stay there again.

Beautiful spot in the Gold Coast area of Alameda. The apartment is the downstairs of a well maintained victorian home. It was clean and quiet. Bed was comfortable and the sitting area was enjoyable. Kitchen had all the basics plus some. Will be back!

Charm, charm, charm. Fabulous Victorian home. Unit on ground floor, no steps. One of the most attractive neighborhoods I’ve ever visited. Close to all, laidback vibe, no crowds, beach town. Furniture is antique lover’s dream. Blackout curtains appreciated. Would definitely stay here again!

Gorgeous Apartment, Beautiful Stay!
My partner and I stayed in Martha’s apartment and it was the best VRBO experience we’ve had by far! The apartment itself was absolutely beautiful, it had everything we needed and more! Not only was the apartment extremely clean and wonderfully decorated, the surrounding neighborhood was just perfect! Unfortunately we didn’t get a chance to meet the host personally, but my partner and I both agreed that we’d love to return to Martha’s the next time we’re in the city, so hopefully next time we’ll get a chance to say hi!

Charming small vacation home
This was a lovely place to stay, set up with significant attention to detail of what it takes to be comfortable there; it feels like they must have had it as a place people stayed for a long time. Among other niceties, the kitchen works and is well equipped. I was very happy they had a large stovetop kettle. It was nice and quiet too, I heard no footsteps etc and only an occasional humming noise in the kitchen, I couldn't figure out if something I did caused it or it was the plumbing in the main house. It was a little confusing checking in (and finding the right entrance) and getting wifi, with no phone number to text I ended up having to ring the doorbell for help. I was glad I didn't come in too late, would recommend showing up at a reasonable time of day or messaging Ms. McCune about it in advance.

Nice owner good communication with the very nice owner who lives above. I didn't realize it was a base apartment also the bed was hard as a rock and the couch pull out is an air mattress that deflates in 10 minutes. It was okay for studying and quiet rest.
