Catalonia Riviera Maya Resort and Spa All Inclusive

"Very clean resort with many things to do. Room was very nice and air-conditioning worked great. We were upgraded to a bigger room for some reason I am not aware of but I did not complain. I always need a cool/cold room when sleeping and this definitely fit the bill. Deck was also nice too and was quite big. Restaurants were nice and clean. You definitely need to book all the restaurants in advance as they fill up quickly. The booking website could use some better work as it was hard to cancel and change reservations. Pools were nice and cleaned every morning. Beach was maintained as best as possible every morning given the bad seaweed season. The beach is not the best but you can snorkel and see many fish. On some days, there was no seaweed at all. Staff is very friendly and willing to help as much as possible. Bars were plentiful with a lot of seating. We didn't upgrade to the privileged status, but the selection was okay. Nightly shows were great and entertaining. Be sure to show up early. All in all in was a great resort. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. I have been to over 30+ all-inclusive resorts throughout Central America and this was by no means in the bottom half of lower 75%. The only negative is how far it is from the airport; its about an hours drive from Cancun/airport. So if you are booking any excursions that are in Cancun or leave from Cancun, be prepared to spend at least an hour or 2 in the car."

"Great stay for the money. It’s on the harbor side but there’s public beach access within walking distance. The hotel provides free bikes if walking isn’t your thing. Rooms are clean and have a typical hotel layout. The patio is equipped with a hammock and a beach lounger. There’s a small pool to cool off in. There’s a small bridge across the edge of the lagoon that forms a pool inside the property with fish. The restaurant is everything waffles (even a burger waffle). Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it! Food has chef vibes! I recommend renting a golf cart for shopping and access to more restaurants. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Coconut bar is about 1/4 mile away. Cheers!"

"Communication in the weeks prior to our vacation was effortless- quick response with helpful information every time. Check-in and out was just as easy. The house is exactly as pictured- absolutely no surprises, other than the good kind! 7 in our party felt like we could have had a group twice the size, with the amount and use of both indoor and outdoor spaces. We were perfectly located on the beach, with activities and restaurants within a few minutes in any direction. We absolutely loved our stay and have already talked about a return trip!"

"Very nice StayMy wife and I stayed for 3 weeks at Serge and Laurianne’s condo. The unit was well stocked with everything that we needed. We liked the location of the condo as we could walk easily to the marina area where all the restaurants and bars are located. We enjoyed having direct access to the beach. The heated pool was very nice also as it was a little bit cool the first week of our stay. The people that stayed in the same complex were all very nice and we enjoyed there company. The only slightly negative was the sargassum washing up on the beach, but that happens everywhere in the Caribbean. The grounds keepers did a nice job trying to clean it up, they also keep the grounds up really nice, and they were all very polite. We hope to stay here again in the future."

"The condo was very comfortable for a family of 8 and the view was beautiful the only thing that I had to say about the condo is the beds a little on the hard side not to comfortable but everything else was very good!!"
