The Space:
Just across the road from the Prosser River in popular Orford, “Wainfleet” is a renovated coastal retreat designed for relaxed family stays.
Styled as a modern beach house, the home is light-filled and spacious, with open-plan kitchen, living, and dining areas forming the heart of the house. Large windows capture natural light and outlooks across the river and jetties on the quiet residential street.
The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances and connects to a generous 8-seat dining table, ideal for shared meals. Comfort is covered year-round with split system heating and cooling, plus a wood fire in the lounge for cooler evenings.
The home offers three well-sized bedrooms. The master features a king bed and private ensuite, the second bedroom includes a queen bed, and the third is ideal for families or groups with a queen bed, double bed, and single bed.
The main bathroom is freshly renovated with classic white tiling and black tapware, complemented by a separate laundry with new washer and dryer for added convenience.
Outdoors, an undercover deck with BBQ and dining setting provides an easy space for long summer evenings, while the large backyard offers plenty of room for children to play.
The location is a standout—step across the road to the Prosser River, stroll to Shelly Beach, or take a short drive to Spring Beach. Orford Riverside Cafe & Providore and the local IGA are just 200 metres away for coffee, breakfast, and essentials.
Days here can be as active or relaxed as you like, with swimming, hiking, cycling, diving, and boating all close by. Maria Island National Park is within easy reach via ferry, while “Our Park” nearby offers a playground, bike park, and weekend parkrun for families and visitors alike.

The Neighbourhood:
Hobart is an easy and scenic one-hour drive from Orford. The seaside village has lots of conveniences: an IGA supermarket, cafes such as Orford Riverside Cafe & Providore and Elly’s, a pizzeria, a bottle shop, and pubs.
Enjoy the 2km cliff-side walking track to Shelly Beach, offering beautiful coastal views of Spring Bay, Mercury Passage, and Maria Island National Park.
Take a short ferry to Maria Island National Park from Triabunna, just a 10 minute drive from the property.
Abundant bird and wildlife, there are cycling tracks and hiking trails nearby for all levels, and you may be lucky to see dolphins and whales.
Lots of historical experiences, such as a visit to the old sandstone quarry and the Convict Trail.
By car, explore areas of Swansea, Coles Bay, and the Freycinet Peninsula, and discover wineries, distilleries, and home-grown produce from the East Coast regions.
Getting Around:
It is best to hire a car to travel to and around Orford. You can hire rental cars from Hobart Airport from Hertz, Thrifty, Avis, Budget, Europcar to name a few.
