"The property is very unassuming from the exterior but it’s a lovely hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They offer to call taxis for you and will graciously assist with any other questions that you may have. The Cicon Bakery in the lobby is superb and is a welcome relief from the convenience store food that we were consuming at our last hotel. Everything is freshly baked and they had breakfast sandwiches, doughnuts, fresh fruit, drinks and more. The roof top bar is a great place to hang out at the end of the day with a beautiful view and fire pits. The water pressure in the shower is phenomenal and taking a shower was a highlight of each morning. The beds were very comfortable. The location was nice because it was close to many temples and shrines as well as pottery retailers and kimono rental stores. Now here are the negatives. There are not enough places to hang towels!!! That’s a pet peeve and I don’t understand how you can expect three people to hang towels on two tiny hooks. Please get install more places to hang towels! You certainly have enough wall space to do it. There is a shuttle to Kyoto Station but it only departs 4 times per day and they won’t take your luggage unless it’s super small. We never used it since it wasn’t available when we needed it. Kyoto Station is not close enough to walk to unless you want to get all sweaty. Other than those two things, it’s a great place to stay!! Would stay again!"
"Simply perfect! The hotel is incredible, the rooms are spacious, the location is ideal and very close to Kyoto Station on the south side, the breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious and varied, and the staff is super welcoming and friendly. We loved our 7‑night stay and will recommend it to our loved ones, and we’ll be back if we return to Kyoto!"
"The hotel location is excellent - central with multiple metro stops and restaurants nearby. It is by the river which has a bike and running path. It is also on a very quiet street ."
"Booked this as an anniversary present and it was a great place to stay.
The venue is beautiful with different areas to eat dinner and a buffet for breakfast.
Different Onsen's to use if you don't have one in your room.
We had 1 in our room which was big enough to fit 2 people and had a view and slightly open so you got a wonderful breeze.
A bus can also take you to and from the venue and the near station (leaving at scheduled times).
Only issue was that you need to make sure that either on your booking or at check in you let them know about food allergies/intolerances etc. so they can prepare something for you if you eat at their restaurants.
Other than that, a wonderful place and lovely stay."
"The facilities are excellent, the premises are clean, and the staff is both friendly and accommodating. The location is highly desirable. We anticipate returning for future stays and regret not having extended our previous visit."
