at your own peril!

Let’s start with arrival. You have to haul you luggage up an 80 metre gravel track- luggage wheels useless. Reception hall is open - that’s fine, however, the reception table was littered with debris and droppings from a swallows nest in the rafters - disgusting!! Our room was no better - can’t describe it all, but here’s the worst - all windows open, no screens, within minutes two swallows are in our room - obviously a common thing as there are bird dropping visible on the rafters of our room. When you flush the toilet the water gurgles up through the shower drain. You can see daylight through the closed door to the outdoors (about a good inch at the bottom). You can see daylight where the roof meet the walls of the building. This is the worst place we have ever booked into. We were booked for 2 nights - 1 was more than enough, we left and forfeited our 2nd night - never new what was in the room with you. We would never stay again.

Nao tem mais os big five. Bem menos animais do que eu esperava. Valeu pela paisagem nas montanhas da reserva e por encontrar com as girafas ao entrar na reserva. O hotel é muito bonito, mas rustico ao extremo,...muito frio,....sem possibilidade de aquecer o quarto em que ficamos. Praticamente nao tinha luz tambem,...principalmente na cozinha. Nao foi uma boa alternativa para ir com filhos.

Sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter in der Baroness Lodge! Tolles Abendessen und Frühstück! Atemberaubendes Nirgendwo in Afrika Flair! Nur die Safari und der Safariteil der Farm war nicht zuvorkommend, Safariguide lustlos.

Hier hatten wir ein echtes Afrikagefühl. Es war so schön und romantisch. Unser Ausblick von unserer Terrasse im Zimmer mit Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang werden wir niemals vergessen.

Staying in a well worn farmhouse

The house is Old School Farmhouse-not really maintained for 30 odd years The grounds and animals are spectacular-like being in a grown up zoo. Staff delightful service pretty good Fairly comfortable.

Best animal experience in Plett

The Park is amazing and we saw so many animals. The game ranger was very knowledgable and gave us an amazing tour. We went at 4pm and he only finished the drive around 6:30pm which meant we saw everything. The only downside was the accommodation was in the reserve but not close to the animals so we didn't see anything at our room.

Fantastic Service, but...........!

The location is way out in the wide open spces, quite a way from any other facilities. The rooms are quirky and quite basic in some respects, but the setting is incredibly peaceful, and if you are lucky, a giraffe may pay a visit, as happened to us! The ladies who run the accomodation are incredibly friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble, they even lit a fire in our room as it was quite cool. Unfortunately the set evening meal was poor, no choice and pork chops like leather! Breakfast was very good however with a good choice. The Game drive is not very good compared with others in the Eastern Cape, the lions and cheetahs are in enclosures, we couldn't find the rhinos or buffaloes - ok for young children, but if you've done game drives elsewhere, you'll be disappointed here.

Great game reserve for families

Stayed with our children, 4 years and 5 years, and had a wonderful time. Given the layout and vegetation it was easy for the kids to spot the animals and the staff were very friendly snd helpful.
