"Property is beautiful.. from the heavenly fragrance upon entering to the lounge and main rest rooms spotless. A bit far from major landmarks walking is doable though. Near a wonderful mall and bus tour stops. After long days the only disappointing thing was the pool closes at 7. The rooftop and indoor. Rooftop pool is really stunning 😍 rooms clean and spacious. We'll be back."

"I rarely leave reviews, but this hotel truly exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was exceptional, and every detail was thoughtfully maintained. What stood out most was the staff—they were incredibly warm, genuine, and welcoming throughout my stay. Their hospitality made all the difference. I highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay here again."

"We had an amazing stay at Avenida Palace. Our room was quiet, comfortable, and included all the amenities one enjoys at a top hotel. We especially enjoyed the live music in the salon (6:30-7:30 pm) and the bar, a very beautiful set of rooms with friendly service. Turn down service was wonderful. Breakfast was gourmet, with a variety of hot foods, a salad bar, tasty pastries, and very fresh fruit. Our concierge was also very helpful with arranging transportation to Sintra (train strike!) and the train station the day we left. We really liked the location for seeing Lisbon and would definitely return (honestly, it was very hard to leave)."

Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade

"As an All-Accor member and given the name of “Sofitel” I expected more. From the start it felt as if my husband and I were discriminated against. We are POC. During the check in process we were greeted by the doorman who took our luggage and asked us to wait on a couch right next to the check in counter to be assisted with check in. We did as instructed and waited while new guests walked in who were white and given service immediately and checked in before us. My husband then decided to just stand and wait so we were noticed more and he went up to the check in counter to initiate the process himself. During the check in process the individual who checked us in claimed we had two reservations under different names which was untrue. She didn’t realize multiple guests could have the same last name and made us feel like we had made a mistake, but this was cleared up. Since we arrived a tad early we were asked to wait until the room was ready and that we could leave and explore the city and would receive a call once our room was ready. We did not. Additionally, the front desk staff was overall rude and not helpful. We asked for assistant with the room plugs since they were all European and we were unable to charge our devices. We were instructed to purchase adapters even though the hotel obviously had loaned adapters to other rooms. Over our 5 night stay we were never greeted when leaving or arriving to the property. Also, the cleaning staff needs better training on knocking."
