Our stay here was amazing! The staff was very caring and fun! Fransisco at the restaurant by the pool and Patricia at the sushi bar made the place feel like family! I would 10/10 come back just for the the experience the staff gave us! Thank you so much for treating us like family!

We had an amazing weekend getaway. We were able to use adult only resort next door for dinner which had some good options. The Hilton staff were amazing and very attentive. A big shout out to Santos in the lobby, Irvin & Felix at the lobby bar and Maria Elena at the adult pool/bar. They were all so nice and treated us like family. They made this trip extra special. The location is nice. Close to shopping and the airport. Beach was clean and water was great! We will return!

The stay overall was great and the bartenders kept the drinks flowing. My only complaint would be the noise from the lobby every single night, it never ended before midnight and sometimes ran until 2in the morning. Very annoying when you have excursions booked early in the morning.

We didn’t get the room we booked, because it’s Adults only, but at the time of booking we either missed that or something changed, so we were out in a junior suite. I don’t believe the junior suite and the room we originally booked were of the same value, so we were downgraded. Aside from that, we were not too thrilled with the cleanliness or the amenities the hotel has to offer. A lot of the better restaurants or bars we’re Adults only, so the hotel isn’t really family friendly.

A decent stay, leaving some things to be desired.

The service was great and the room was good. We stayed on the adults only (Hacienda) side, which was calm and relaxing. Going to the other/main building (which you will have to do if you want beach access or certain restaurants) was very loud and chaotic - the resort was blasting music and there were tons of families with unsupervised kids. The food definitely left something to be desired - we strongly recommend you do NOT eat at the French restaurant if you stay here, but the Mexican restaurant was good. Also, most of the restaurants require a dinner reservation, which is a major bummer if you’re getting off a long flight (you may not be able to find food until the morning). Liquor was noticeably watered down. None of the pools were heated - even in 90 degrees it was a bit unpleasant. It was a pleasant experience overall, but definitely lacking in some respects.

The check in process was bumpy at best. They checked in our friends with no problems but failed to tell us any details including how to check out a week later. Our friends were able to stay for the afternoon and we were told that we had to pay extra to stay after we left the room. The private pool is very shaded and it is freezing cold so we paid extra for that and hardly used it. There is a rain shower in the shower however that does not work. The knob to switch between showerheads was not there and we were stuck with only using the retractable showerhead and the rain shower would drizzle down on you. The last two days we were there we had no hot water for shower either. The food is mediocre. I was not impressed with the Buffay selections as it was the same thing every single day. I have been at places that change The buffet elections. The specialized restaurants would be closed from time to time for no reason and there was never any notification about that so if you didn’t eat in the French restaurant one night you may not be able to get a chance to do it again. Last but not least they change the name of hotel I didn’t notify us

Enjoyed our stay

Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay based on friendly staff, good food and the nice ocean view room. We would consider coming back. Cons: We booked a King room but at check-in we were told they didn’t have a King room and instead gave us a double bed. We aren’t ones to complain so just accepted. Plus, they said they would have a King room ready in 2 nights, so we didn't mind. Our room was an ocean view room, but when we walked in (double bed) they had lawn chairs stacked up in front, obscuring our view - again, we're ones to complain so we didn't say anything. However, when we got the King room, the AC wasn’t working and the slider door was broken. Now we complained. We refused that room and instead decided to keep the double room and just asked to have the lawn chairs removed. The weather was humid and couldn't deal with a broken AC. When we tried to address the issue with the Front Desk Staff and Concierge they weren't very helpfull or interested in helping. They insisted the AC was working but it kept getting warmer. Notheless, we felt the Front Desk Staff and Concierge could have handled this better. Pros: maintenance staff, restaurant staff, bell boys and bar staff were very friendly. Once the lawn chairs were removed, the ocean view was beautiful. The private pool in our room was great too. We also enjoyed the daily check in to restock drinks in our room - unlimited beer, water and coffee.

Barely 3.5/5 for our stay. The whole property is showing its age/getting a bit tired. There are a lot of renovations/constructions since they took over from Hilton. Room service was a bit hit and miss, house keeping only cleaned our room once in five day. On day two, we’ve asked for more bottled water, and our duvet was dirty/had some stains on it. We got our water the next day, but our duvet was never changed. Food - the buffet is pretty much the same every day, especially breakfast, do definitely try the reservation only restaurants. Birds, flies and food flies are also a problem. If you are really worried, then you have to stick with food that are kept in warmer, or get the made to order ones. High chair - they don’t really get cleaned properly, I wipe them down myself every time, and they are usually filthy. Staff - all of the staff we have met were very professional, except for one (IMO, more later). All the front line staff spoke very good English, but some of the beach towel attendants, cooks at the omelette station, for example, spoke very little English. Beach - the hotel beach is really close to the public beach, so there are a lot of none hotel guests traffic. Things to do with toddler (and adults) - Pirate ship at the port. It is an easy 20 mins stroll (10 mins if all adults), but you have to pay and pass port security. All in all, for the price, I think Krystal Altitude was decent, but definitely not 4 stars as advertised.
