It was very difficult to find a parking while it’s mentioned there’s a parking available. I couldn’t stay more than 5 minutes in the room because the entire furniture, bed, pillows and curtains were smelling smoke and cigarettes. When I contacted the management, they weren’t able to offer me another room and they suggested I reach out to Expedia for a refund. Expedia confirmed that the property management rejected the refund request.

We had a pleasant 3-night stay here. It's a little out of town but only takes 15 minutes or so to walk to the main eating and shopping area. The reception staff are off-site but the cleaning and catering staff were extremely helpful (e.g., we didn't receive an email in advance with check-in instructions, but everyone was very supportive and sorted it out quickly). The rooms and breakfasts are fine.

Finding the location is a little bit tricky but when you do find it, there’s not enough parking but if you find a spot it’s really clean really nice. They have free cookies, free coffee. The kitchen is actually pretty awesome. I was really surprise it’s still a work in progress as they’re constantly working on it but it’s a really nice place. But something I would like to recommend to the company is every room should have a refrigerator and the showers could be a little bit larger. I’m 6’1 and it’s tight but other than that pressure and temperature amazing. A lot of people rate this is a one star please I give it a good three star and breakfast is pretty good as well. definitely stay again.

The heating function of the cooking stove is poor but no one mention when we check in. we found it takes long time to heat and it is weak to cook. finally we need to use micro-waver to cook for our dinner.

I would say this is much more of a hostel than a hotel- a very good hostel at that though, but I am more used to hotels personally. Long days on trips, the last thing I wanted to do was come back to sharing the bathroom and waiting for the toilet to be free (my own fault, I booked the room with the shared bathroom, but I was presuming this would be more like a guesthouse). The first couple of days, there was a school/college type group staying and the walls were quite thin, groups of teenagers out the front chatting, leaving the shower room unkempt (although they were very polite), which was a little annoying, but once they had gone, it was a little more relaxing. The rooms are too simple for me- a bed, a drawer and a sink, nowhere to hang clothes or really relax in the space (if you are travelling as a group, this would be OK as there are communal spaces). All staff were great, except a slight dig- I made an error in reading my pick-up time for the airport (the bus was at 4:30, not the pick up time), and one of the hotel's staff came and knocked, which I appreciated and got moving as quickly as possible, she came up one last time approx. 5 mins later as I was vacating my room, telling me that I had to hurry up, people were waiting on the bus, etc. I totally appreciate that I was late and this is my responsibility, however I am an adult and felt terrible enough that I was late, I did not need to be lectured by the receptionist about this...but this was the only time.

Good location for the price
Good hotel to use when transitting from the airport via public transport. A kilometre or so from centre of town, but close enough to walk. Appreciated the free coffee and tea. The kitchen was a good size and well-equipped.

Very similar to a hostel. Very basic accommodations. The beds were uncomfortable and the room stuffy. Over priced for what we got. 20 minutes drive from the center of Reykjavik. Not recommended.

The hotel was centrally located. It was an easy walk to downtown Reykjavik. Since we used the Brim Hotel as our home base, it was also easy to travel to various destinations north, south, and east. Now for the bad.... We had issues with the maid service. Two out of the eight days of our stay, our room was not cleaned. When we complained, we were given various excuses. Several times we had to request clean towels and toilet paper. We also ran out of soap. The staff was very nonchalant about these missteps and never truly addressed these issues.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms(Small) but were perfect for someone who doesn't plan on spending a lot of time at the hotel. The price was good. Some of the showers wouldn't drain.

The property is dirty, unkept and loud. We paid for a week but moved out after one night. No refund was offered. The yard appears to have not been cut this year. The lobby carpet is filthy. The room carpet stained. The paint in the room chipped. The upholstery torn. The room unbearably hot. ...and children running down the halls all night.

Clean, friendly staff. The rooms are a bit small but we weren’t in the room very much. No tv if that’s your thing. We could walk everywhere from the hotel and when tired- taxi ride was minimal. Good breakfast.

Great location, walking distance to downtown and also very close to tour bus stop 12 (so convenient!) Kitchen has pots, pans, some spices for guests to use and share which is so great. Nice staff. Parking is free in front of property but it fills up fast in the evening and at night so just an FYI.

Very small room and bad smell
The room is extremely small and very bad smell. Have to use shower and bathroom in public corridors. No nearby parking in front of the hotel.

This place is in a good location, they provide free coffee and tea at all times, which is really nice. The staff is also very friendly. The bad news, the facility itself is not great. Although the water throughout Iceland tends to smell a little more mineral-y than usual, the water here smelled like sulfur. I stayed at other places in Reykjavik that did not have this same problem. I was also right behind the reception, the door was falling off the door frame, and the hallway and room itself was kinda run down. Not great. It was a fine place to stay, but don't expect fantastic accommodations.

When I stay at a hotel, I expect at the bare minimum to be able to sleep. Unfortunately, this was not possible at Brim Hotel. Around 6 in the morning, I was awoken by the sound of someone fumbling with the door lock. An hour later, a horrible banging noise started and never stopped. Sleep was impossible. I decided I might as well take a shower. The temperature was inconsistent and the overall experience messy. Then I thought I could at least use the hotel’s WiFi. I was wrong again. It was shoddy at best. I would not recommend anyone stay at this property.
