We loved our one night stay here! Quaint, very walkable town. The hotel was clean and our room was quite comfortable! Our room had a great view of the harbor. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also quite nice!

The property was unique and quite warm which helped considering we were on the cusp of winter. The only thing I wish was better was the size of the rooms and comfort of the beds. The fire alarm went of several times due to the shower steam in other peoples rooms and people not reading the warning in the bathrooms. Otherwise everything was great

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Viking. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the breakfast was good and the restaurant had delicious food. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the location in Hafnarfjöđur was convenient and close to the bus stop. Thank you so much for the great stay and I can’t wait to return.

Our family of 4 stayed here in Aug. 2022. We stayed in what appeared to be a newer building (across the street from the main building where the reception desk is located). We found the Viking theme both inside the rooms and outside to be very unique and charming. We loved the loft bedroom area in our room. We did not eat at the restaurant, but it looked very nice. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was OK...very crowded when they first opened for the day. Highly recommended this hotel.

Their breakfast is one of the best for budget hotels! Good place to stay to have a Viking theme hotel experience. The area (15 min from Reykjavik) is quiet and beautiful.

The property looks great from the outside, the restaurant and reception are also themed very well. The room we stayed in was quite dated. The bathroom smelt a bit odd and the beds were separated by a desk, so you couldn't push them together for a couple. We also found parking quite difficult, as it gets full quickly and it is not clear where to park when the hotel spaces are full. The breakfast was great and for the price this is somewhere I would still recommended staying in Rekyavik. 4/5

Quirky and full of character. Breakfast excellent. Dinner excellent. Enjoyed folksinger at dinner one evening. Housekeeping a bit one-eyed! Eg we were provided with face cloths on arrival, these were removed and not replaced after one night. Tea/coffee tray only half serviced each day. Shampoo, shower gel etc not provided though unlimited liquid soap was. Water is beautifully soft. Hot water from hot springs smells sulphury but is lovely if you can cope with that!
