Middle of nowhere!!!
The hotel was not in Riva del Garda as stated on Hotels.com. It is actually 9 miles out of Riva, up a very steep, narrow and windy road which we were nearly run off of!! There is nothing around the hotel at all to do, so you would need transport. The hotel owners spoke no English, the TV in the room didn't work and the pool was covered over even though the description on Hotels.com states that the pool is open seasonally, I think early August is peak season and expected the pool to be usable. We stayed one night only, we tried to explain to the owners why we wanted to leave and we contacted Hotels.com to explain. Neither was very helpful and we ended up having to pay for 4 nights, this money was taken automatically from my bank. At no point has anyone tried to contact me to apologise or explain which totally ruined our stay!! If you want to be totally isolated then the Rosalpina may suit you, the room was clean and the bed was comfy, however that is about all it has to offer I'm afraid.

Nettes kleines Hotel für einen Kurzaufenthalt
Für ein 2-Sterne Hotel bietet das Rosalpina erstaunlich viel. Preis-Leistung stimmt hier definitiv. Positiv: Große Zimmer fast alle mit Balkon, Bad mit Fön, gutes Frühstück, gepflegte Poolanlage, Kinderspielplatz, Kostenloser Parkplatz. Negativ: die Zimmer sind hellhörig, grad morgens bekommt man ab 6 Uhr mit wie das Hotel erwacht. Das Hotel biete zwar eine Speisekarte, für gutes Essen und einen schönen Abend muss man allerdings zum See runterfahren.

Familiäres Hotel abseits der Touristenströme
Obwohl wir erst spät angekommen sind (nach 20 Uhr), habe wir noch ein hervorragendes Abndessen bekommen: Pizza, Wein, Espresso und mehr. Der Service war hervorragend und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ebenso.

Wir haben uns eigentlich nur zum schlafen und frühstücken im Hotel aufgehalten und waren tagsüber immer unterwegs. Im Grunde eignet sich das Hotel dafür ganz gut. Das frühstück war "okay": Brötchen, Wurst, Käse, Tomaten, Honig, Nutella. Joghurt und eine Schale Müsli sowie aufgeschnittene Fertigkuchenstücke (meistens Marzipan). Die Zimmer sind relativ groß für italienische Verhältnisse, die Ausstattung ist zwar nicht modern aber grundsätzlich in gutem Zustand und sauber. Das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag gereinigt. Soweit sogut. Eigentlich würde ich das Hotel für einen Aktiv-Urlaub weiterempfehlen, wäre es nicht zu diesem Vorfall gekommen: Am letzten Abend wurden wir und ca 10 andere Gäste (allesamt Holländer) Zeugen, als der Hotelbesitzer seinen (wie sich später herausstellte 17 Jahre alten und blinden!!!) Hund mit Schlägen und etlichen Fußtritten (richtig harten, sodass dieser auch seitlich umfiel) bestraft hat, weil dieser auf die Terrasse gepinkelt hatte. Auf meine Frage, warum sie denn den Hund nicht einschläfern würden, erhielt ich die Antwort, dass ich ja "nicht mehr nach Italia kommen" müsse. Meine Freundin vermutete übrigens schon bei unserer ersten Begegnung mit dem Hündchen,dass dieser blind sei und/oder misshandelt wurde,weil zum einen die Augen komisch aussahen, er uns nie fokussierte und zum anderen sich jedes mal wegdrehte, wenn wir uns zu ihm runterbeugten und ihn streicheln wollten. Ich würde mir wünschen,dass auch andere Gäste dies in ihrer Bewertung erwähnen

Vanskelig å finne hotellet, litt langt fra sentrum, ligger i flott natur. Enkel standard med blant annet et dusjforheng og ikke kabinett. Ikke AC. God frokost.
