The Forest Lodge

8/10 Good

"Lovely little boutique hotel. Friendly staff and good breakfast!"

White Horse Cottage with Sauna

10/10 Excellent

"We stayed here for two nights to visit Sherwood Forest visitors centre and the Mighty Oak. The location is perfect, around a 10 minute drive to the centre. The house is fabulous ! A beautiful really old cottage with two living rooms, one for quiet and reading, the other with the TV. The book shelves are full of an amazing selection of books, no matter where your interests lie I’m sure you’d find something of interest to read ! Both living rooms are comfortable and spacious. The dining kitchen is well equipped, we had everything we needed for the weekend. The private back garden is lovely with a great barbecue area at the rear of the garage and it’s fully enclosed so it was safe to let our dogs out unaccompanied. The bedrooms were a good size with good storage and room under beds for cases. Comfortable beds and quiet, no traffic noise. The bathroom is large with a bath and separate shower. There is also a second toilet downstairs in the room off the dining area along with another shower and the sauna. Previous reviews mention the stairs being unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues, we agree with these comments, the treads are narrow and the risers steep plus there’s a turn at the top! But fine for able bodied people. All in all this was a perfect home for us for our stay and we’d definitely stay here again if we return to this area."

Child-friendly 3-bed house in Sherwood Forest, Edwinstowe with WiFi & Parking

10/10 Excellent

"A lovely spacious clean property that was great for a family with small children. Lia was really easy to get hold of beforehand and during our stay, and super helpful. Loved staying there! Thanks for having us 😊"

Ropemaker's Cottage, · Ropemaker's Cottage, cosy cottage retreat

10/10 Excellent

"We had a wonderful stay at Ropemakers Cottage. It was perfect for our family, we spent days exploring the nearby sites and enjoyed relaxing evenings at the cottage. The cottage had everything we needed to prepare family meals together, was clean and cozy. During our stay the weather was very warm and we were grateful for the provided fans in the bedrooms. There was limited parking directly in front, but we had no issues as there is a community free parking lot very close with easy access to the back door of the cottage. Communication with Laura was wonderful from the booking, prior to arrival, and after check out. We'd welcome the opportunity to stay again."

The Old Ropery at Mill Cottage - Unwind where ropes once twined

10/10 Excellent

"My family and I had a really lovely stay here. We were a group of three adults, three children and a dog and the cottage provided ample space for all of us during our two night stay. The cottage was nicely decorated and furniture was comfortable and good quality. Everything was clean and well maintained and my nephews particularly enjoyed the stocked cupboards of board games! We really appreciated the high chair, children's dinnerware and toys too for our 18 month old niece staying here. The kids also enjoyed the short stroll to McDonald's for breakfast and the dog was very happy with the field down the road! We visited Sherwood Forest, Sherwood Pines and Rufford Abbey all within a 10 minute drive. We all really enjoyed our stay here and would happily be back. We actually had to coax our dog out of the cottage when it was time to leave, he didn't want to go at all! Only minor problem was we were sent two different codes to the gates to get in. We didn't realise this at first and the first code we tried contained in an email from Vrbo was incorrect and didn't work causing a slight panic when we arrived. Luckily, we did eventually get enough signal to get online and find the correct code. "

Apartment 2 The Old Chapel apartments, in the heart of Sherwood Forest

10/10 Excellent

"We were so pleased with the beautiful modern spacious apartment. We found it easy to relax there and enjoyed using the kitchen but we also went out and had such a nice meal at the Olive Tree.We were given a tour of the church which was entertaining! We went for two lovely walks at the RSPB Sherwood Forest and met some nice people there. Amazing. Many thanks to our host Laura. "

2 bedroom accommodation in Edwinstowe, near Mansfield

10/10 Excellent

"Very nice cottage, clean, warm and comfortable. Well equipped, has Sky TV package, and a dishwasher ideal for a relaxing break. Unfortunately very close to the road which is noisy, however this makes an ideal location to travel from, and the pub is just across the road. Sherwood Forest and The Major Oak is within walking distance. Two car parking spaces outside the house. A lot to recommend this cottage."

1 bedroom accommodation in Rufford, near Newark

"Superb accommodation, everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. All the rooms are large and very nicely furnished, quality fixtures and fittings throughout. Plus an amazing log burner! Easy access to Rufford Abbey and the Rose Cottage pub/restaurant is close by for meals. Best accommodation we have ever stayed in!"
