Could be great but needs a ton of maintenance
Arrived with no check in instructions and after repeatedly asking the manager and host to respond called VRBO direct. They got us in the house. Location is marginal as far neighborhoods but having redeveloped neighborhoods over the last 30 years you can see eventually - maybe 7-8 years - this has the bones to be a great neighborhood. For now you have to contend with homeless people wandering around at night after they leave the hospital and er even had the pleasure tbe first night of being awakened by the police at the door at 1:30 am. Turns out someone got beat senseless behind the house. Cop said nothing new but had to ask if we heard anything. The next two nights the neighbors partied all night. All of this is fine actually as we love cities and people and edginess. Be warned though if you are the new VRBO crowd who thinks they like this after staying in hotels for years. You might be put off. Upside Pearl is right there and downtown is a short Uber. Very convenient location in that regard and the Pearl district is really all you need to see and spend time in while in San Antonio unless you’re taking kids to the zoo and , gardens which are also both close. The house needs to be maintained and it isn’t. The closet bars kept falling, the doors don’t stay open on the rooms or don’t stay closed. The pool is cold and filled with leaves. TV is hit or miss but the kitchen is nice. Just an average property in below average shape but could be great if taken care of.
