Overall the place isn't bad. Their door locks could be improved as there is no deadbolt. One of the windows is missing a screen but overall the staff was nice and the area is close to beach and pier.

I booked a spontaneous same day stay, and I was not disappointed! I’m so thankful they are pet friendly, I had a cute little room on the second floor with a view. The room was clean, the location is walkable to the beach, the staff were very kind, friendly, informative, and helpful! All to say, my stay at seaway inn was very pleasant and I definitely recommend!

Disgusting. Everything is old and dirty. One of our bath towels had dirt. Literally dirt. Can’t tell when the last time the carpets were cleaned. We only chose this place because they were pet friendly

On your comment on dog fees, we are one of very few hotels in Santa Cruz to offer dog friendly accommodation in all of our rooms. We review our dog stay policies on a regular basis and take in to account the significant additional Housekeeping cost to prepare the room for the next guest. We believe our pet rate is competitive and in no way excessive.

Stayed one night with my son. Great little boutique hotel! Walking distance to restaurants and shopping and has a decent view. We would stay again for sure!

This property is dirty. The smell of trash enveloped us as we opened the doors of our parked car in the hotel lot. The shower had black mold on the shower head. Outside the bathroom the carpet smelled of vomit. The bed pillows were lumpy and not clean. I paid for 2 rooms the same night. I woke up with itchy bug bites all over my abdomen. My guest in the other room had itchy bug bites all over their arms the morning after staying in the room. That room also had black mold on the shower head. The cost per night was equivalent of the hotel across the street. That hotel is a new redone hotel. I cannot recommend this hotel.

I can assure you we did attempt to reach out to you concerning the issues. Our hotel has never experienced bed bugs nor have we ever received feedback from a guest regarding bed bugs. We do conduct our own monthly and quarterly inspection which involves inspecting for bed bugs to ensure our hotel is up to our own standards. However, we did call our pest control company to come out and inspect the two rooms you had stayed in along with the rest of the property. The company arrived the day after your departure. Upon inspection and further testing they did not find one bed bug. As for the bites you received, I can only assume you and your travel party might have gotten bitten by sand fleas on the beach which unfortunately is quite common. Additionally, our rooms are routinely tested for mold due to our property being in close proximity to the beach. The two rooms you booked did not contain any mold inside the bathrooms. We went ahead and tested with mold kits, and they came out negative. The carpets are also routinely shampooed and deep cleaned with a carpet steamer. Which is the process we followed upon your departure.Our team strives to provide a welcoming and memorable experience for all our guests. We are disappointed we were unable to amend your stay with us. We understand every hotel is not for every guest and we hope you find a property more suitable to your liking next time you are in Santa Cruz.Warmest Regards,

This was the worst room and hotel I have ever stayed. I had to wait outside and knock for them to open the door for me to check in. After I checked in I had to park around the block because there was no parking. My room smelled like mildew and was dirty. My toddlers found a pill or something by the bed. Bed was so uncomfortable and itchy. I woke up sore like I had been hit by a bus since the bed was so uncomfortable. Pillows were flat like they were years old.

You checked in at approximately 10:30pm the same evening. At that time of night, to protect our staff and equipment, we do keep the door locked unless we are sitting at the front desk. Our parking is first come first served; we also offer free parking in the lot immediately adjacent to the hotel to accommodate our guests especially during busy seasons. Most of our guests love our beds as noted in other reviews so we are surprised to hear you did not find it comfortable. We rotate and flip mattresses and change pillows regularly to maintain a high standard of comfort. We strive to provide the best customer experience to all our guests. We did take note of the comments you made at check out and have already had a review with our Housekeeping and front desk teams to learn the lessons and implement those lessons immediately. I can only apologize for our failure to deliver to your expectations, and we did provide an adjustment to your stay.Warmest Regards,

This place was wonderful. Very convenient location. My family and I felt safe and were comfortable here. The staff was wonderful and called at 9pm (while we were closing down the Boardwalk) to see if we would be in after midnight so they could make arrangements for us to check in if needed and the staff even moved her car for me so I could more easily park my large SUV. Much appreciated!

Amanda, I did go back and look at the reservation details and I noticed you had an issue around sleep disturbing noise from guests in the next room. On behalf of the Seaway Inn team. This was a super convenient hotel to stay for our adventure in Santa Cruz. It is close to the wharf, the beach, and to take a walk to the lighthouse. The parking is easy and it’s already included in your fees which is an additional plus! You do need to ask for your room to be serviced if you wish but that was not a problem!

Cute little spot. Bedding was clean room was well maintained. Short walk to restaurants & the beach! Bed was comfortable. Staff was very pleasant. They also offer late check out until 100pm for just $35.
