"Beautiful property in an epic location. Staff was very friendly and helpful, spa was simple but beuatiful (love the geothermal fed outdoor hot pool), restaurant was delicious with great views of the plain below, and we were able to go on a big gorgeous hike out our back window. Felt like a special place to spend our first night in Iceland."

"The location was good. Staff were friendly and helpful, the room was a little small but we only stayed one night. It was clean. And it was closed to the harbor where we were embarking in a cruise ship. All good."
"My wife and I had a great time in Iceland, staying at the Hotel Reykjavik Grand. The hotel is a little bit out from the central downtown area, but that was perfect for us, since we had a rental car and the hotel offered free parking on their surface lot. There is a parking garage downstairs, but we weren't sure if it was free for hotel guests, but we had no issues finding spots on the ground level, even when we came back late at night. The rooms were a little dated, but clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast spread was very comprehensive and good way to start the day. This is a great option for those looking to be close to, but not in too deep in the busy tourist area of downtown Reykjavík."
"Hello, fellow travelers! Here’s a quick and honest review of this property.
Quick Wins:
1) Breakfast Options: If you book a room with breakfast, you’ll enjoy a good selection of food. Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. sharp.
2) Great Location: The hotel is in the heart of Reykjavik, just a 10- 15-minute walk to Rainbow Street and the iconic church.
3) Honest Staff: I once left my jacket and wallet in the dining area, and thankfully, they were saved!
4) Lockers Available: You can store your luggage and carry-on items securely.
5) Family-Oriented Lobby: There’s a nice hangout area that’s great for meetings and socializing.
Some Hiccups:
1) No Gym Amenities: The Center Plaza Hotel does not offer gym facilities.
2) Basic Room Quality: The rooms are typical of budget hotels.
3) Busy Hotel: The hotel can get quite crowded. I went down for breakfast at 7 a.m. once, and it was packed! I found that going later helped.
4) Limited Perks for VIP Expedia Travelers: There weren’t many benefits during my stay. I had to remind the front desk about my status, and they provided me with one complimentary drink.
5) Tour Pickup Issues: The hotel does not offer pick-up for tours. The nearest bus stop for pickups is a 5-10 minute walk from City Hall Bus Stop 1. However, if you're traveling with a group or family, there are plenty of taxis available right outside the hotel."
"The hotel boasts that there is a free laundry onsite but doesn’t mention that the laundry only includes 1 small washer and dryer for the whole hotel. It was understood that the laundry is first come, first serve but an insufficient laundry is unacceptable. The washer and dryer were constantly in use so the appliances were unable to keep up with the demand. It appeared that there was not sufficient water in the washer to thoroughly wet the clothing being laundered and the dryer was only sufficient to dry 2-3 items at a time.
I had to add an extra expense to my trip due to being unable to use the laundry facility that Hotel Muli provided. After checking the laundry room at varying times of the day I was unable to gain access to the washer. Due to the extended wash/dry cycle durations patrons set the appliances on it was very difficult to gain access to the laundry facilities.
While in Iceland I had the added expense of paying for transportation to and from an outside laundry to launder my clothes. The cost for transportation and use of the laundry equipment added up to $88.00 (US $) $39 to wash & dry along with $48 for the taxi. This was an expense I did not plan on since I chose a hotel with a laundry facility. It was very frustrated and disappointed by the whole situation."
