Only small comment would be that in the summer when the day starts really early, the shutters don't really block the light so we were not able to have much of a lie in - although this is personal preference and only a small comment on an otherwise lovely stay."

A brilliant stay at The Ship Inn, Dymchurch

"This is such a wonderfully old and beautiful pub, with restaurant and great rooms. The few rooms they have are all named so you know which room you will be getting when you book. We had the Gold Room and it was so lovely! A lady behind the bar greeted us and showed us to our room. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The restaurant menu looked amazing but we.had promised ourselves fish and chips on the beach. The beach was a few minutes walk from the The Ship Inn so it was a perfect evening. In the morning, when we came down to breakfast, we were greeted by the chef who took our cooked breakfast order. He was very chatty and helpful. We definitely intend to visit again!"

Acceptable for a weekend away

"Suitable for our weekend locally. Unfortunately there was an issue with the bathroom drains which sent a sewage type smell around, if the bathroom door was closed then it was fairly isolated to the bathroom, but if you wanted to enter the room to use the loo, shower or brush your teeth then we were all retching. We were told by the owner that someone was coming out to check it out, but this either didn’t happen or was not rectified whilst we were out for the day. "
