"We were delighted to find we were staying in a stately home worthy of Downton Abbey. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. Wonderful spaces for the guest with fireplaces and comfortable chairs in beautifully coordinated fabrics, as you'd expect from the previous home of Laura Ashleys family, (although subtley not massively floral). The restaurent was lovely and the food superb. Staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds and views over the Brecon Beacons was lovely, with lots of pubs nearby, and other restaurents in nearby Brecon. Our room had a confortable 4 poster bed and lovely ensuite with a seperate shower and Bath, and a great view. It was one floor up and the stairs were wide and not steep so I managed with my stick. We were able to park right out the front door in the big turning circle. Overall it could not have been better!"

Although there was an issue with slow service on our first night, it was sorted quickly and staff more than made up for this, over the rest of our stay. "Nice, relaxing stay in the heart of Ross on Wye. Large room, on second floor accessed by an extremely steep winding staircase, which is what you’d expect in an old inn like this. Staff helpful and friendly. Food good and reasonably priced. Only drawbacks were the bathroom which with its sloping ceiling and steps was a bit hazardous and the carpark with its extremely narrow access that many cars would struggle to get in."
