"The receptionist was very helpful and welcoming. However the room is quite old and there is nothing happening at the hotel. No laundry machine, no vending machine. Guests are required to come back to the hotel by 11pm everyday as the main door will be closed by then. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was decent. You can either choose breakfast at 8 or 8:30am. Also there’s nothing around the hotel, please make sure if the location is fine for your itinerary ."

The staff were friendly, though a few foreign staff members had difficulty understanding my questions in Japanese. This hotel is excellent, that is why I believe the customers would expect them to speak Japanese language in native level otherwise it will affect the longtime hotel history. I hope the hotel continues its excellent service and professional atmosphere."

"We enjoyed this hotel during a brief getaway during the summer to escape the Tokyo heat. The hotel is located in a very nice location in old Karuizawa (Kyo-Karuizawa), close to many nice restaurants and little shops, while also being very quite. Rooms are very large and modern, the hotel has its own hot spring (onsen), and high speed internet is free. Very friendly staff and a large and tasty breakfast buffer. We definitely plan to visit again."

"Great place to stay for a visit to Kariuzawa. Next to the train station and they will hold your bags while you explore the town, then pick up your bag and head to the train station. Very helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I’ve had in Japan- lots of local, traditional foods cooked from scratch. Such a treat!"
