Chapelton Halt, 1987. View SE, towards Exeter etc.: ex-LSW Exeter - Barnstaple - Ilfracombe/Torrington line. From 4/1/65 this proud station was closed to goods and demoted to an unstaffed Halt on a single-line branch just from Exeter to Barnstaple (former Junction) with few trains calling here.

Stonyland from the north. Partly hidden by the slope of the field, the buildings in the valley at Stonyland are close to the bridge shown in 601142. Beyond, the lane to Charlacott Cross climbs round a bend (the point where 599127 and other photos were taken), past a barn and a small tree (see 601121).

Lovely stay, would recommend
The setting of this BnB is absolutely beautiful. Breakfast was perfect nothing fancy just exactly what you need, we specifically enjoyed the homemade rhubarb compote! The room was part of a converted barn and really cosy. The host was lovely.

We loved our mini. Real at the Corfe fir my husbands 50. Great space. Incredible fasciitis’s and wonderful part of the world.

We booked in for 3 nights and we were issued with one toilet roll that was more happy shopper than premium.
