"All of the staff we came into contact with were friendly and helpful. We ate at the pub and the food was good sized portions and of a good quality. The breakfast was particularly good!
The room was quirky and of a good size.
Overall, we would highly recommend staying at the Hoops Inn."
"Lovely location, amazing grounds and the room was excellent. Staff were very friendly and informative about the area.
The cooked breakfast was also fantastic, would love to stay again!"
"Check in was easy, friendly staff, room decor was lovely, clean bedding. Parking was perfect and surroundings are beautiful. Had a beautiful breakfast too. Only negative was quite a few wood louse running round the bathroom, kept slippers on but may put you off if squeamish."
"Me and my Wife stayed for a couple of days, staff were amazing, food was lovely ( best breakfast we’ve ever had ) and being able to relax in the hot tub in the evening really topped it off!"
"Have known this hotel for a number of years and it was one of the best in the area but now needing a facelift without spoiling its design. Lift inside needs upgrading, fixtures and fittings need upgrading. STAFF were lovely especially Carol in the lounge area, very kind and helpful. Pool and garden area lovely. Parking good but limited spaces. Receptionists friendly and helpful. Hotel is well situated for Bideford T

"This is a traditional old style hotel. May not be ultra modern but full of charm and character and wonderful staff. Always a pleasure to stay. The restaurant is top notch for both breakfast and evening dinner."

"We recently stayed at Croyde Bay, and our family room offered everything we needed, including a fridge, alongside all the usual essentials like an ironing board, hairdryer, and kettle. There was even an extra heater and a fan provided if needed. It was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable.
The facilities were perfect for our family. The swimming pool area was warm, clean, and well-maintained, complete with tidy changing rooms, sun loungers, a sauna, steam room, and hot tub. While we didn't use the gym, it looked amazing. Outside, the grounds and gardens were beautifully kept, and the outdoor play area, activities, and arcades kept the family thoroughly entertained. It was fantastic being so close to the beach; I just wish we had chosen a week with better weather!
The buffet breakfast offered everything you could possibly want, nicely cooked and presented, with particularly amazing poached eggs! Dinner was equally good, and I highly recommend the chorizo and honey pizza. Above all, every member of staff we interacted with was remarkably friendly, helpful, and accommodating.
The only drawback occurred on our final night when some teenagers were running through the corridors banging doors. While not ideal in general, it was made worse when it woke and frightened our four-year-old, leaving us struggling to get him back to sleep.
Despite that, it was a fantastic stay, and we are already looking at when we can return!"
"Enjoyable stay at what is perhaps best described as a fantastic restaurant with rooms. The restaurant overlooks the water and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. However our room was landside, with only a view of Irsha Street. Although small, the room and facilities were excellent. Fresh milk in the fridge is always much appreciated by us tea drinkers."
A stunning pet-friendly one-bedroom lodge with open plan living, private deck and hot tub.
10/10 Excellent
"What a pleasure to stay here at Middle thorne. Finally found the lodge that has everything that we look for in a holiday. Our dog lola loved the space outside and we loved the set up in the lodge, the shower room, the living space and kitchen.
We had privacy and a hot tub.
Everything you will need for a lovely stay.
We are booking next year and cannot wait to come back.
Lovely communication with the owner too.."

Everything was ready. There is two pubs at the end of the street Would recommend. Thank you Stephanie for letting us use your home for the week. The welcome bottle was such a lovely touch. Thank you"
"The Beach Hut was well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Thankfully, there was a fan , for which we were so grateful as the weather was so hot. the site was quiet and parking was good, right outside the cabin."
"5 stars for everything, good comms, easy access via key safe, property very clean with everything we needed. The supplied location map wasn't great, but we found it in the end and had a lovely stay."
