"We had the most unreal stay and are already planning on going back again. Atmosphere was amazing and the staff were superb."

"Food both breakfast and evening meal were excellent. All staff were excellent and really wanted the stay to be special for us. The room was good and the pillows were clearly new and helped us sleep. The check in closing at 22.00 might cause a problem to some people and the only other problem was it appeared to be a bit tired in corridors but rooms were fine"

"Apparently the management had very recently taken over the tenancy which according to the manager was left in a dilapidated state. There were cheap air fresheners all over the establishment. We asked them to be removed, but the smell was impregnated and we had to have the windows open the whole time, which was not great as the heating did not work and a small fan heater was supplied and was totally inefficient. We were asked what time would we like breakfast and when we went down the place was in darkness. We and other guest waited almost an hour when we had to leave. I have never ever had this experience before. I had some health problems as did a collegue as we both had water from the tap. Which may not have been related to the Black Swan"

"Delightful and most comfortable cottage. Particularly enjoyed the courtyard to relax in after a day's walking, while cooking in the kitchen was a pleasure; the wide range of utensils etc meant that just about any meal was possible. If cooking isn't what you want to do on holiday then there is a shop just across the road, a pub next door and a Fish and Chip takeway next to that."
